tie rod end

Have an 06 with 57 k. When changing over to the summer tires I discovered I need a tie rod end for the drivers side. How long should it take me to r&r, and what usually causes the tie rod end to go.

It's real easy to do. Under an hour. How do you know it's bad? As for why it went so prematurely hard to say, driving habits, defective part.

hmmm are you sure its tie rod? i was told i needed inner tierod but once apart it was the rack & pinion ironically it took failing inspection to bring this problem to attention it was subsequently the problem i had from vibration/shimmy that went ignored by Nissan for years! i was told it was a definate tierod and it was definately not..... just double check to be sure although the tierod is very inexpensive in comparison to the Rack & pinion assembly.

No vibration/shimmy at all. When the car is suspended on lift, there is a bit of play in the wheel when you attempt to push wheel in and out.
