Full size spare?

How many of you have this? I have it on my car but I'm trying to figure out how many were possibly equipped with it. BTW I have an 04 SL.

Full size spare tire. As in a factory aluminum wheel as a spare instead of the compact spare.

I havent seen my spare in a while, But the last time I saw it a few years ago it seemed like the way the trunk is, if you put in a full size spare the width of the rim would come up above the trunk line, So I dont think full size spare would work.

If your Maxima comes equipped with the Traction and Stability control system it has to have a full size spare. So probably most Maxima's will have full size spares but some may not.

I've got traction control, not sure if I've got Stability however. It's a fully loaded 07SL, and mine has a doughnut...I would actually prefer a full sized spare. Can anyone post a picture with the cover off how that actually looks? I'd be curious if I could swap mine out for the full size. I recall there's a bit of Styrofoam around the doughnut, so would imagine it should only require a different hub holder...

I have a full spare. And now, since I swapped my rims to the 2010 Maxima 19", I happen to finally get 6 wheels of the 2010 19". So, I have a full 19" 2010 Maxima rim and tire as spare. Even have one of the 2010 19" rim and tire for sale. Brand new. I also have my 2008 18" SE rim for sale. Brand new, perfect condition! If anybody needs it or knows someone who needs it, let me know. You can use it as a replacement for a bent or scratched up rim or use as a spare. Tire and rim are brand new!

Oh wow, that's a pretty big hump! At least that's what it looks like. I have the donut (just checked) and the trunk is flat...I guess I'd rather have the flat trunk than the full sized spare tire hehe

I have the full size spare with my 04 se. The card board cover comes up about 3/4 inch higher than the flat spare cover - nothing that will affect trunk space.

I'll go with a full size any day, regardless of wasting space or saving mpg. sometimes you have a flat that would take you a while to get fixed & this is where the full size will come in handy. remember what they say about donuts, is this right 50mph max, 50 miles max??? look at the width of your donut. do you really trust that "toy" with your life???

Full Sized Spare Tire and Wheel

Approximately 5 months after purchasing my 2004 Maxima SE 6 speed manual, my partner bought me a brand new OEM 18" alloy wheel to replace the 18" doughnut spare that came with my car. This was a birthday present. I purchased a new tire, had the mechanic mount the tire, and now I have a full-sized 18" wheel and tire in my trunk as the spare tire. The tire fits nicely into the wheel depression in the trunk, and there is no unsightly hump in the trunk floor. I recommend having a regular tire and wheel in the trunk so that your road trip and / or vacation is not unnecessarily interrupted by an inconvenient flat tire.

Not true, mine has all that and I have a 17" donut, not a full size wheel.

Someone that needs one might actually buy it if you weren't charging an arm and a leg for them. Just saying.

Which one are you talking about? The 19s or the 18s? As for the 19s, sold it to a guy in California. He paid without even making an offer. Great guy. He just pm me that he was making a payment and that was it! I was shocked, to say the least.

As for my 18s, well, I priced it at $200. Honestly, I have had 2 offers and they backed out because they did not have the money. But that amount is not set on Gold. Honestly. Someone who wants it should just make an offer. It wouldn't hurt, I promise. The worst I can do is say, I really cannot sell it for that low. But if it is reasonable, I would jump on it. Tire and rim are brand new. But price is not set on Gold. Offers would be appreciated. Just someone be reasonable for a new rim and tire.

To answer your question, Maximas equipped with the Elite Package like several have mentioned have a full size matching spare, the Elite Package is Captain/Bucket seat in the rear, so the car sits 4, look for those and you will find the ones with factory full size spares
