wanna go LED...

hey guys. so I wanna go LED in the rear tails stop/parking/turn.. everything as well as the front. Before I buy, I have questions...

1. load resist req'd for each LED... where do you mount them ?

2. turn signals LED... cant we just get a different relay flasher and it'll fix it
throughout the entire car?

any help is appreciated. Thanks

You just need the resisters, 2 to be exact. You mount using the wiring from the turn signal bulb in the rear. There is a write up on here somewhere as to how to go about doing it. Its real easy. PM me if you need help.

Resistors required only for the turn signals. The stop/reverse/parking leds, just switch them out.

From what I understand.

You need two 3 ohm 50 watt resistors if you are doing both front and rear led turn signals.

If you are only doing rear or only doing front turn signals, then you will need two 6 ohm 50 watt resistors.

One resistor for each side.

Correct me if I'm wrong anyone....

Correct 2 3ohm (One on each side covers front and rear) load equalizers and mount them in the rear so they are out of the way.

Here's the write up i did a few years back. And remember always check the stickies first!!!

I never mounted mine, they hang down below the taillight and don't touch anything, they get very hot...

Where are you planning on buying lights from BTW?

nice.. for some reason, when i had LED bulbs in my maxima (03), they were nice and all, but you couldn't really really tell the difference when the lights were on and the brake was pressed.. like it lit up a little, but not really noticeable.. so i wonder if i had the wrong bulbs or what not...

www.autolumination.com 3157 red bulbs for the tails. Pick your style...but make sure they have side facing LED too to reflect the light.

These will work GOOD: 60 High Powered Wide Angle SMT LEDS

KC has these that he got form me, a bit older style but still good!
18 Wide Angle Oval LEDS

leds

so, you can buy led lights that will directly replace the OEM tail lights but you have to install a resistor? or just on the turn signals you have to install them, and all other lights you can just swap out?

If you're going to do the parking lights, I would assume you mean the fronts. If so, then yes, you would need resistors.

Shortly after installing mine, I added 72 LED's to my third brake light.

I really feel sorry for people behind me now...

Just ordered $200 in leds for my tails O.O
but that's 20% off for the brightest 10 bulbs out there, resistors, backing plates, and shipping.
V-LEDS.COM | LED Dome, Map, License Plate, Reverse, DRL, Turn Signal, Brake Lights

let me know if you want the short 20% off code. i got it for joining them on FB

they even have swtichbacks, but i like my chrome blink only filament bulbs for up front.
