Sloppy Shifter

I have an '04 SE 6spd man. Is there any way to take the play out of my shifter? After 7 years and 133,000 miles, it's a little sloppy.

Regarding the crunching sound if it is a kind of annoying squeaking sound it could be where the shaft is going through the rubber grommet in the firewall up near the top of the clutch pedal. Spray a little lubricant on it and it will go away.

what if the clutch is coming out towards the bottom, should the system just be bled off?
