Its time for some new shoes.

I've had the OEM Goodyears, the Goodyear Eagle F1s, and most recently the Michelin Pilot Sport A/Ss.

Not impressed with the longevity or performance of the Michelins - I thought they were supposed to be top notch. The Goodyears were pretty nice, but pricey.

I drive about 30K a year, so something with good longevity but decent performance is what I'm looking for.

I have stock Goodyear RSA. But would be going for Yokohama Advan S4 by end of the year. Go Yoko.

Bridgestone Turanza Serenity. Quiet with very good handling for spirited driving and snow and rain.

I have yokohama avid W4's, and I am not impressed with the wear. You would be lucky to get 30,000 miles out of them.

I'm using Nexen N3000s. They came with the car so I left them like that. Not many compalints here, except sometimes they start getting loud. Good tires tho, I've had them since 22.5K and I'm at 52k.

Cooper Zeon Sport AS. A little noisier than high priced tires, but very satisfied.

If you're looking for good summer tires that look great and are a good price, look at Yokohama S-Drive's ... That's what I just got a couple months ago, and couldn't be happier. Great wet and dry traction.

Riken Raptors - they came on the car (7 gen) when I bought it two weeks ago. I know, I'd never heard of them before either but a Google search will tell you more. So far they haven't seen rain, or snow, or any curve sharper than an Interstate on ramp! In Winnemucca, NV you can either go right on I80 to Salt Lake City or left to Reno, NV. I've driven them less than 500 miles. However, I can say that they ride very well on the freeway, are quiet, and are comfortable/stable up to 100+ mph. Riken Raptors are a budget tire marketed by a subsidiary of Michelin and sold at Discount Tires. With the amount of tread left on them, I reckon I'll live with them a while.

Live long, and prosper

Nothing in particular.....I drive an a$$load of miles for work so something that will last a while, do decent in the snow, and give somewhat decent performance. The Goodyear F1s fit the bill, but were expensive.

Looks like there is quite a variety here.....everyone is using something different.

I just bought some Michelin Primacy MXV4s a few thousand miles back.

Amazingly quiet, and comfortable. Handle good too.

But they are def not the cheapest things

I should be able to get well over 80k out of them.

I've got a next to new set of Blizzaks F/S. Perfect condition, make me an offer. You know how our winters are...

Listen to me, If you drive alot and want a ALL SEASON tire with longevity at a decent price its Continental DWS. Look it up there not much you can find that beats that for the quality at that price. I bought 275/37/19's for 225 each! the all season Michelin were 350 and they were behind the Continental.

Sorry to post on an old discussion but I am new to the group and don't have my 15 posts yet. Glad I found it, seems like a lot of helpful input.

I need to replace my OEM Conti's on my 2007 SL after 28K and am stumped. I always drove SUV's before my Maxima, I know nothing about getting tires for this car. FYI - compared to my SUV's, driving my Maxima feels like I'm driving a formula 1 race car, love it!!!

I am on LI, NY where we got 1 billion inches of snow this year. Until recently the OEM Conti's have managed well in the snow and felt great in the summer. I am disappointed in the low millage I have gotten out of them but I have had no other complaints except some "skipping" when I took off from a stop too fast on a wet surface. I guess I was re-learning how to drive on a front wheel drive, a bit different experience than SUV rear-wheelers.

I love the way the tires hugged the road and did what I told them too, I do not want to loose that but still need to get around in the snow. I'd also like some longer life.

Any suggestions for these types of conditions and goals would be greatly be appreciated.

Thank you,
Marcantonio

My OEM RSAs do just about as good as Michelin rubber in all conditions and cost much less. You can prob score them now 175 each and their treadwear is excellent.

My RSAs with about 10k on them spin too easily. I have a 6 speed and sometimes I'm a little over aggressive on take off, but I still believe they spin when they shouldn't.

I like the look of the BFG KDW (new tread) but I haven't had a chance to read any reviews yet.

I am seriously considering kumho ecsta lx platinum. Please let me know if this will be a wrong choice for everyday all season tires.

Reason 1: Good 60k tread wear
Reason 2: Not so soft side walls (compare to conti dws)
Reason 3: Cheap ($140 a pop)
Reason 4: Manufacturer road hazard warranty (initial 25% treadwear)
Reason 5: On road service for first 2 year
Reason all: all season tires

My next purchase will be the continental extremecontact DW (max performance summer).

Winter is blizzak WS70

All season tires suck for winter, whats the point. They are useless for winter. There shouldnt even be all season tires. Last time I tried to drive on 1 inch of snow with all season tires I though I would die all trip long.

Yeah low rolling resistance prevent me getting them....if not kumho then I might have to go with conti dws or save up more to go with michelin mhv4.

I put these on my '07 about 18 months ago. Maybe not an ultra-high performance tire, but big improvement over the OE RSAs. Much better in the wet. Very quiet. Still look brand new after 12k miles. Very good price/performance value. No complaints here.

The OEM size is 245/45/18, as we all know. Would a 255/45/18 fit without turning clearance issues?

Thank you! That's exactly kind of opinion I was looking for. She is still ready to pull off some good performance but at 117k miles I want her to rest with some good all season touring tires.

Without going into any kind of debate, all I can say is as long as your rim is 8" wide then go for it but do not try them if your stock rimms are 7.5" wide. Otherwise it will look like baloon and unsafe for high speed driving.
