07 Bumper scratches

Hey there guys, been a while since I posted, but I am finally glad to be back home on the west coast. While I was on the east coast for 2 years, I had someone bump my Max while parked at a mall.

As you can see from the pictures, its just scratches, but I am looking for the best way to get them removed. I see them everytime I approach the car, and its bugging the crap out of me.

Thanks

Parked mine in a parking lot far away a shopping cart rolled down the lot and scratched the side of my bumper right through the paint..I was unable to buff it out,too deep so it took it to a scratch and dent guy he painted the whole bumper for about $225 it was worth it he did a great job and had to do the whole rear bumper to make everything match. It was a perfect match. That's your best bet wont cost that much either.

Is that black paint from the guy that hit you, or is it your silver rubbed off? If it's his, try some polishing compound on a few of the areas, even wet sanding could do it. Want to be careful that you don't remove all of the clear coat under his marks, so work slowly, and in small areas. Don't move on until you see progress at the first spot.

Now, if it's your silver is scraped off, you're going to need to repaint it. As suggested above, $200+ is a good going rate to get it fixed....

The cheapest solution is to just touch up paint it. If you are picky, just have a local body shop to repaint the whole bumper.

Thanks for the advice guys, I think I will contact a local reputal body shop to do a re-paint of the bumper. I really don't want to attack it myself.

Yeaah, I know the feeling. My bumper looks like shizz too but at least you don't have the imprint of somebody bumper on it.

Good luck with it
