Lets see some maximas lowered!!

I just ordered progress springs and i wanted to see how would it look. Get an idea at least. I am running stock 18s on my max.
I ordered them from ImportCarPartsPlus.com For $187 shipped. The Macedonian refered me here and his drop looks really nice and he purchased his from there too.

Thanks

those drops look great.....I myself am so worried about getting springs do to the already sagging look us Max owners deal with and didn't want to have to deal with that with lowering spring either.

Did you guys have to upgrade any other parts to get your alignment back in spec?

Im surprised this comment came from you Leo.

Thats horrible advice. Lowering springs are designed to be used in sets, not pairs.

I drove around for two days on fronts only. It sucked.

Not only did you feel the rake, the handling was way off balance.

I've had the progress springs for a few years now and have never noticed a "saggy ***".

+1 on that -- I was planning to go that route and see what it would look like to just drop the front - my tech guy almost slapped me silly when I shared my idea with him - I honestly think that Progress with give you the most aggressive stance that's w/o going the coilover route of course...

I am of the "going for stance over performance" crowd. Well, maybe a crowd of one (me), but...

My max is already low in the rear. The front definitely needs to be lower, but I don't want the rear tucked look. I want stock ride height in the rear with lowered front, only to clean up the wheel gap. I really feel that Nissan did great with the design of the Maxima but failed miserably with the excessive wheel gap up front. I want a BMW 335 stance and Maxima everything else.

Is mixing and matching springs also a bad idea (Progress on front, Tein in the rear, etc)? I would assume so. I understand the springs are engineered as a set and should be installed as such, but...

What about some sort of spacer like the Ford F-150 folks put in there trucks as a leveling kit? Anything like that available? Would something like that be easily made? I am considering going Progress all the way around. Teins if I can swing the cost. I just wish there was something offered that would give us the correct spring rate at all 4 corners, but not drop the rear. Is that asking too much, or even feasible?

Bro you hit that nail right on the head on all points. Save up for the Teins, I think you will be happier in the end. Not knocking Progress, different tastes thats all.

+2 I too have no sag, if any springs will give the saggy look is the Eibachs. Progress has a uniform drop.

I know its terrible but its a solution to the saggy *** look.
I drove two years like that and it didn't really feel save when hitting the brakes. I never drove the Max everyday either.

I deleted that post.......

you can use the stock struts/shocks but I would highly recommend going with the KYB's, as the new springs you will get will sit much lower and have a more aggressive spring rate than the stock ones do, hence strut/shock replacement is a no brainer (at least for me)

Just my opinion bro - went with the Progress/KYB GR-2's and love every minute of it

damn - I could have used that extra $$$ to get me an RSB

I was scared to leave my stock struts/shocks as some of my buddies and some of the guys here have been telling me that it's going to cost me in the long run.

The best compliment after a drop is the rear bar from KCMAX.

I had Progress with 19" Nismos (19x8.5 35 offset) on my '04. Looked great, but I scraped everywhere... If you have winters where you are, I'd go with something more mild like the Teins.

scraped on Progress? damn lol, gotta practice that lowered-car driving.

I had progress on stock struts for awhile, and the ride was nice look was good. I wanted to go lower, i'm on Tein Coilovers now...pretty much as low as I can go with the headers, my y-pipe is about .75" off the ground. Here's a couple pics...lowered the nose about another .75" and the rear another .5" since these were taken

So progress > Eibach?

Nobody likes Eibach?

How does ride quality differ from progress/eibach/tein?
