All that matters most is you're ok....walking away with no injuries, and you had no seatbelt on is amazing for the speed you were going....the max is your angel....once I spun out on the highway in the rain doing 70-80 luckily no cars were around and I hit the wall with the front of my bumper and it slowed me down to A stop, front bumper lights and hood needed to be replaced but thank god I was ok...sometimes we get lucky

As least your alright man. My friend hit 2 deer a few years back in his Prelude, he got it fixed up. It was only a few hundred shy of being totaled.

You need to negotiate more money. Something's not right, 2008 should bring in at best guess $5000 more than that, and even that, I'd say they were screwing you. Lookup blue book for your model, you'd see what I mean. Insurance should pay WAY more for the total on that...

Glad to hear you're ok -- noticed the IL plates, where did it happen?

$13k seems low even though its a rebuilt car -- you wont even come close to finding an 08 w/ 21k miles for around $13k

You can always negotiate with your insurance on the loss amount (unless you signed the papers alrdy) -- they always offer a low ball amount first which most people accept but you can search online and find similar cars at dealers and send over those prices to get them to give you more money (you can also buy a report from sites like www.dvassess.com to help you out)

Gap insurance only covers you if you owe more on the car than what it's worth. In his case, he owed less on the car than what it was worth (positive equity.)
