Rear 3 spark plug removal....
Rear 3 spark plug removal....
Anyone having trouble getting to the rear 3 plugs? I did the front 3 myself, but took the car in to replace the rear 3. Too much trouble. Is there any easier way? Did I not remove an intake or bar? My tools and hands were too long or big for the job.
Yes, you have to remove the intake manifold to get to the back 3 plugs. Good job designing newer stuff, Nissan. At least you only have to do it every 100k miles.
......... And this has nothing to do with the garage & workshop forum.

I tried to follow a write up for 5th gen maxima @ http://www.greghome.com/Greg's%20Gar...eplacement.htm but stuck at 3rd picture. It appears that 5th gen has more room at the back vs 6th gen. How do I get to those two bolts?
Any help will be really appreciated.

Very easy to do!So one day I get all snappy and decide I am changing plugs. I was at 75k miles...thinking I'll get it done before they need it. I rip her part and start pulling plugs. 5 of the plugs were good, not sure of the gap, but they were not fouled or anything serious. One of them, however, was, melted down to nothing, and still, to this day, I do not understand how I didn't get a misfire CEL code from it. There was nothing left of that little bugger....
So, my point to this story is change em out if you are getting close. I am changing mine out next summer which I figure I will be at 80k.

Yeah, on my 2000 Max SE, it was easy, I'd do all 6 by myself. However, this one is a beast for the rear 3 plugs.
