A lot of the 04's had a big problem with the BOSE headunits. They were replacing them at one time but thats been years ago. I have a BOSE changer out of an 05 in my basement thats problem free I would sell cheap. PM me if you're interested.

It seems lot of people have issues with the bose player..even i do not like the sound quality.I observed the difference when i play with AUX ( hooked up that PAC AUX ) and CD.
My player skips at certain times and i observed when i dont start the car it plays well.

If I want to replace the player with any other after market player i wont be getting the cd texts in the screen. I kinda like that. is there any compatible after market player which can diectly seat in the place of bose without altering the factory look ? also i know clarion made the player so is there any which will be direct replacement to the stock one and can output the cd texts on the screen ?

i saw in ebay lot of people are selling it above $200. i dont find any reason in buying a used bose changer for $200. it make sense if its $50.

I have an 06 with Bose and I found that in the morning when the CD skips like crazy, I eject the CD and I find a lot of condensation on the CD. I think once the car has been running for a while, the engine and the CD player heat up and all the condensation evaporates but when it's cold out or humid, it's the condensation on the CD itself that causes it to skip.

Same here. The cd changer turned into complete garbage. The head unit cut the speakers on the drivers side.

if u replace with new HU from Bose ( well actually clarion ) - after few months it will do again. Get rid of that CD player and get an after market or install a AUX and listen to ipod ( if u dont have auc already ).. trust me the stock hu vs ur ipod sound- u will notice the difference..the stock hu somehow puts so much mid range and it only fills up the front speakers.

Thats not true. Mine was replaced over a year ago. They replaced the changer and the deck. I also had problems with the sound dropping from the front driver side speakers.

No problems. 11 degree weather and the cd player works before the car even warms up. Now a aftermarket deck would sound better. Just to be clear. I plan to get one myself.
