LOL.....it's funny reading these last few posts. Your saying that we're upset when your the one that's continuing this "debate". Why didn't you just let things be and gotten the hell out of the 6th gen forum like I suggested earlier. Hmmmm..

I hope that you realize the same thing.......do you live on this forum or what. It seems like your just waiting for someone to respond to your posts so you can come up with some kind of rebuttal.

It's kind of sad you know.

What sad is that u dudes are really got all huffy because someone said something about a model of car. A car. I didn't make any personal attacks against any of you because I don't know you. You guys made it sound like I was flashing old ladys in the town square. When I all did was tell a guy some bad things I heard and seen about a car he was looking to purchase. Tell me how sad that is? If the mods deleted this whole thread wouldn't that be censoring information? Isn't that why most of us are on this furom? To share ideas and information? Wouldn't the whole purpose be defeated? Good night yall.

I'm sorry your thread has been destroyed. For what it's worth there are a couple things I would consider myself. I don't know what your financial situation is in correlation with the car you want. I don't know if you are broke or just looking to snag a great deal. All I can say to contribute to who reads this thread is that if you purchase this car for whatever price, make sure to get a warranty from another source. Banks and credit unions offer them. you could get one for 3 years covering everything from anywhere between $1,000 to $1,500. Get the seller down a bit which should be easy and roll the purchase with warranty all together in one note. You will have peace-of-mind. You never know, you could buy a, "regular priced normal MAX" and be better off or worse. You just never know especially as you just read earlier in this thread. Warranty is KEY and without one on this vehicle with these low miles it is pointless.

I like how this gentleman asked me how old I was the followed with a juvenile insult smh. Anyway my information once again was not to ruffle the feathers of 6th owners I know people get touchy when you talk about their babys. Ive seen some really sick lookin 04 to 08s and wouldn't mind ownin one if I could get it in 6 speed. I would of course be armed with enough info and have certain expectations because of the people I have talk to about them and the things Iv'e read.
I beg to differ I never owned a Nissan Maxima, I am disappointed in my 2004 Maxima bought at 67,000 miles now almost 86,000 miles owned for over a year. The issues I see in the forums are issues of reliability that this car should not have. The 6th speed in this car is clunky to say the least, i had to replace my timing chain guides at 70,000 miles hmm Nissan sure makes great parts, my moonroof leaks even after the recall fix, now I am hearing that water sound issue that is currently on a trending topic. Overall the car feels like a pig on wheels, gas is wonderful at the moment too might I add as this pig eats a lot of fuel. Disappoinment is what I have owning the car, I am looking foward to selling it soon. If there are lawsuits pending that is enough to say about this car, period.

Frank, What am I not understanding? You never owned a Maxima? You own one? You OWNED one? What's the deal? Moonroof leaking after a recall should never happen again if handled properly as exhausting it may be. I get it about the 6 speed hence they went away from it for whatever reason. I will throw my experience out there saying I bet for half the people out there with that flowing water noise dealing with heater cores and a/c compressors or whatever that it is mostly normal. Unless there is something drastic going on.

Read my post? I am a owner and never again. Like I said I had never owned a Nissan, my friend recommened me the Maxima. I am sorry to say that I wish I had done my homework, if I had I would have not wasted my money on the Maxima.

I have been trying to get the dealer on the phone for over a month now and to no avail on the moonroof issue and now finding out about the water issue and hows theres a recall on that? I am driving around a money pit.

So you're actually going put the people complaining that it rides like a towncar in your dissatisfied column along side the people with say a bad tranny??? I'll give it to you the max "feels" like a big car and does ride soft when compared to a sports car. But if your "friend's" input is that they feel stupid, and don't like the ride, they're foolish and should have got a Z. Also, check the overall length, width and wheelbase of the various gen Maxima's, you'll find the 5th and 6th are nearly identical, as some of the other gens are close. In short, it's not significantly bigger then any other Max.

Take it from me, I've owned both a 93 MarkVIII and a 95 Continental. The Max is much stiffer than those Lincolns on air, even over the MarkVIII which was more performance based but still on air. Anyone calling the Max ride like a "towncar" is full of $h!+ and I think you know it too.

I'm very satisfied with the ride I have, had it for 2 years, not a thing wrong with it yet, despite having a so far usless extended warrantee.

The Z is crap, if you think Maximas had issues Z's are worse. Had a friend who had one, had to go to the dealer 5 times on an exhaust issue, they finally put in a new in for him. Nissan is not what it used to be...

But again, that's one car, among tens of thousands sold.

And I only brought up the Z because it's a sports car, as opposed to a Max, which is a sedan. Those guys complaining about a "townCar" feel shouldn't be buying 4 door's if they want it to feel like a Z...that's all my point was.
