New here! 05 6speed m/t with some mods!

whats up guys i finally got my 15 posts out of the way so i can show off my max a little. I got my car last summer and i love it. So far i have Tein S-techs with stock shocks and struts, a nismo CAI, 2007 maxima se rims plasti-dipped black, painted calipers, and a black mesh grill with a custom "nismo" emblem bolted on, red led parking lights in front (which might be illegal but they look amazing ), and leds in the domes, trunk and license plate. Please feel free to comment and ask any questions. i did all the work myself so far and look forward to future modding .

Really like everything that you've done to your ride so far. Digging the look that the Teins give with the drop. Overall, it's tastefully modded. You have any pics of the interior? Also, what else you got planned for it?

thanks man! and yeah the teins really bring the ride all together i love them. right now i have no pics of the interior but i will take some as soon i remember. Next i want to focus more on performance so im gunna look into y-pipes and possibly a magnaflow set up for the exhaust. Some strut bars are going to find there way into it at one point also

I agree with 6.5affiliate, very tastefully modded. Tell me more on this plasti-dipping thing. I just got my 04 maxima 6-speed and am itching to start modding.

Great choice if your going with the magnaflows, they look amazing on a max. In for pics when you update this page.

plasti-dip is a safe fool proof way of changing color or blacking out parts on your car.

it comes in a can like spray paint, its is very "newbie paint friendly" as it layers nice with each coat minimal runs pooling, ect...

and if you don't like it, or want to change the color, it peels right off in one big piece showing the untouched, unharmed, part you painted over. cool stuff.

its called plasti-dip (on the can) and nothing else. do not buy look alikes. you need the brand "Plasti-Dip"

Looks good. I like the all black theme. I'm going with the same look on mine, except with the 18" 350Z's. Not sure to go with gloss, flat or matte on them though.

thanks all for the positive feedback guys. im new to car modding so ive been very patient while doing some of the work. and to follow up on twentyeggs' answer about plasti-dip make sure you do a couple nice coats after its already covered because if its not on thick it will be a pain to remove. also make sure the rims are very clean before you start. it basically dries as rubber

Wrong, a Maxima with 6spd manual and 07-08 front and rear end, that is the best of both worlds.

Good job so far dude, looking good.

No problem, looking forward to seeing the new pics. Anyways, the magnaflows are really a nice muffler. Especially them being dual exhausts since I'm not really into the singles.

Also, racingline has a real nice FSTB but they've been out of stock for a little bit now and don't know when they're gonna get more in stock:

As for a rear strut bar for a 6th gen. This is the only one that I'm aware of right now: http://forums.maxima.org/group-deals...roup-deal.html

The block off plate is proven to give you more hp (top end) on the dyno but all I could feel when I put one on was a little loss in low end torque (say 2,000 - 3,000 rpm). I say get a y-pipe when you have the cash. You'll actually *feel* a difference in power with it. I've put about 1500 miles on my car with it and so far I'm averaging 1 mpg more for my regular driving routine. On the interstate I've taken a couple of 250 mile round trips and got 2 mpg more than I ever did before.

I actually HAD a block plate for a year, but I removed it. I'm fully bolted/tuned otherwise, but I couldn't stand the < 4000 rpm torque loss. My car is a DD, and Most of my driving is under 4000 rpm, so I really enjoy having all the torque/power I can get in that range. It all depends where you want the power in your power curve. Essentially, the BOP just shifts it to the right a bit.

Oh, and I realized that the OP of this thread was the one who inspired me to plasti dip my wheels. I know it's on a silver 5.5 gen, but here's how it turned out. I've also got some nismo decals on the way to try out
