The 6.5gen CVT, never worked on one but my buddy says the replacements of CVT is no where close to the previous 4 & 5 speed transmissions, it has a smaller failure rate currently

who cares about which car to get. it's not the argument. your GP gives you a car and youll "win" 10k. get it?

Good thing that the 6.5 CVT is covered with a 120k mile warranty Haven't heard/read of a single 6.5 that had an issue with their tranny the whole time I've been on these forums.

I actually recall someone on here about a month ago saying how they only had 58k on there 6.5 and they had to replace there CVT. That's the only one Ive heard of though.

Hmm, never seen that thread or recall seeing something like that. Guess there's a first for everything. Person either never even did any maintenance on their ride or the person they bought it from...

My buddy back home in NY says they do a 6.5 Gen CVT replacement every so often, several 7th Gens have been replaced, but its all in line with the amount of cars they sell, but the CVT has been pretty reliable, they replace more VQ because of negligence but thats another topic

SELL not SALE the Max. I35 is much younger mechanically. Definitely considered an upgrade. How much is he selling it for? Or is he just gonna shoot it to you on the strength?

I'll agree with what your saying, a lot of people think that they can just do whatever they want without taking any care of their new car until problems pop up. I've seen a few in the 7th gen section of the forum that had CVT issues too.

If your getting it for free. Why not use one as a daily driver and the other as a show car/weekend warrior? I would just keep both.

Keep both!!! If you are making the payments with no issues. Then you will have the best of both worlds. Make the maxima a weekend warrior and pimp the i35 for everything else. Why can't I get someone to give me a car.
