Do I have to drop subframe to replace 6mt trans?

Do I have to drop subframe to replace 6mt trans?
I'm gonna be doing a tranny swap soon, and it seems like the FSM says that you have to drop the subframe. They only mention the 5AT in the FSM, so I don't know if I have to drop it for the 6mt.

Anyone done a manual trans replacement?
