check engine light from hell???

hi guys

my '06 maxima has 140K on it and recently my check engine light came on as the back cat had gone bad. the code was for the rear cat only, and there were no other codes.

i replaced both cats, and while at it all the 02 sensors and cleared out the code (again, rear cat code only).

day later i get a code for the wideband 02 in the front bank so i clear it and it comes back so i get it replaced under warrenty (bosch direct fit) as i thought maybe somehow, as rare as i think it would be, i got a bad 02. check engine light comes back. it's for the front bank wideband 02 code P2A03. a buddy of mien checked the sensors wiht a snapon highend scanner and all the trims are exactly where they need to be and resetting it simply makes it come back. he also cleared out the adaptive memory as well.

the car does not need any recalls done but someone suggested that it could need the ecu reflashed...???

I would stay away from bosh wire band sensors, only use OEM.

You should consider running premium in a maxima, but i though it was a universal, well id try to get another sensor and see if a new one solves your problem.

You need to erase self learn for a/f.
You can google the procedure. If you dont have any exhaust leaks it should work.
Something about driving the car for like 10mins when it's at full operating temperature then stopping and disconnecting the maf while the car is on.
Car stalls or fluctuates.
Reconnect maf, use code reader to erase maf code and start the car.
This is the process without a diagnostic machine to erase the self learn
