All season and UHP don't really go well together.

How much do you have to spend? What size are you looking for?

I had the Continental DWS for the trial period but really wanted the Bridgestone RE970AS Pole positions. I loved the Continental but ended up getting the Bridgestone's when they were available. What a world of difference. The real difference in the tire is the sidewall.

I have always driven fairly spirited and did notice a softer tire in the corners, which is not unusual in a continental. Rides nice, quiet....

The Bridgestone has a much stiffer sidewall and the cornering is much tighter and the tires seem to track much better. I had the previous tire, the RE960 and this is a nice improvement. With all the rain here in Seattle the are fantastic in the water and did very well in the snow and slush. I am very impressed with this tire, probably the best all season I have had. If the treadwear lasts as advertised I will buy this tire again, unless there is an RE980AS in the near future. Just my opinion...

Reading test reviews on Tire Rack's website might help out, too.

Bridgestone RE970AS Pole positions - Good looking tire, seems geared it bit more towards performance. I always did like Bridgestone, if I can get a good price, I'd take those too.

Primacys are the best tires I have every owned, smooth as glass and quiet. Outstanding wet traction and decent on the snow. I have about 27,000 miles on them on my 04 SE mixed city and highway and still at least half the tread left they will go 50,000 easy and I am kinda heavy on the gas and brakes. They are categorized as a touring tire but let me tell you after two sets of those god awful RSAs the primacys are superior in every respect. For the first 70,000 miles with those RSAs my car shook and vibrated and was noisy after I don’t know how many road force balancings and rebalancings and I blamed the car but it was those RSAs the whole time. Never done a thing to these tires except rotate them and they are as smooth as the day I bought them. Highly recommend you can get them at Costco for about $1000 out the door.

Yup great tire, it just suffers from the soft side wall like the Conti. I'm running them on my Max but I have them at 36.5 PSI and it helps alot and the wear is still even.

The OEM Goodyear RSAs are the best. I get them cheap and wouldn't switch. Been in a blizzard in Flagstaff and torrential rain. They rock.

You know, surprisingly I have had pretty good luck with RSA's. I can get 19in size for about $175each from Discount Tire. They came OEM on the car and they actually did decent in the snow when I got caught and I never had any of the issue so many have complained about.

$175 RSA vs $208 DWS, it is a consideration.

If you have got it down to those two go with the DWS, for another $130 you get a much better tire. Check out the tire rack surveys, DWS scored substantially higher. Everyone has different priorities though if you really need to save the money.

Interesting. I got caught in a white out storm in AZ and the RS-As did much better than that survery. Ice too. I will stick to my own experience and keep paying 150 a tire.

You have probably already bought tires by now but i will put in my 2 cents worth-- i have an '07 se and replaced my tires at 40000 miles the goodyears were done. i was slipping and sliding for the last 10000 miles on these tires so i went to a different brand. i only have 4000 miles on them so can't say anything about how they wear but they are rated at 80k. i spent $750 with an alignment. Uniroyal tiger paw gts touring 245/45zr18. I am very happy with them i live in florida and they deal with the high humidity/hot temps as well as wet traction very well. I also am a very spirited driver -- "what there was a speed limit on the 270 degree on- ramp?"

Yup just got these today in 245/40 19 for $500 for all 4 mounted, balanced etc.

I was going to stick with a summer tire but discount tire said they had these that someone returned with less than 200mi because they wanted to stick with Goodyear GT. So I decided to give it a shot since it was cheap for a 19". I really only needed 2 tires but for price and being that I wasn't running the right size all around (Front I had 235/35 back 245/35) I was like for the price of 2 summers I can get 4 of these all seasons.

Its raining today and grips real nice.
