Had my max for a few years, looking to add some performance mods
Hey, I've been driving my 04 maxima for around three years now. It has some visual mods on it (Tints, front rain visors, custom grill, rims). I am still looking to buy some blacked out taillights and maybe some fog lights and a lowering. However, I think it is time I added a few performance parts, but I need some help.
Lets say my budget is ~$6-$700 over the next month or so.
Also, I am very new to modding and most likely cannot do any extensive DIY jobs.
With that said, I have been reading and was thinking of adding a CAI and perhaps a cattman or magnaflow? But I am unsure as to how to compare the different brands. If anyone could help that would be great!

Ebay intake + a decent filter will cost $100. You could install mufflers for sound but performance you'd want to go with a full catback system. The Ebay one is $200, or you can get a custom one done for maybe $400-500.
For brands most cold air intake systems are the same: an aluminum pipe with a filter at the end. You end up paying for the brand, which is why the ebay one with a proper filter will sound and perform just as well for less. The exception (from what I hear) is the R2C intake which really does perform better than other intakes.
Youtube will be your friend for hearing different exhaust setups. The sound isn't quite the same of course, but there's Borla, Magnaflow, Greddy setups, cutouts, and more. If you can too, you should check out your local maxima meets and you can hear different setups in person.

Yes, I would like a full catback installed. Whats the difference between the different models?
Also, forgot to add that I do have spacers, forgot I added those a few weeks after I bought the car.
My main concern about the sound is that I don't want to sound like I threw together a ricer build.
Also, my is a 5 speed with the tiptronic

How is this intake? http://www.ebay.com/itm/04-06-NISSAN...3f6895&vxp=mtr
That intake you posted from eBay is good, it's almost the same as the one I used, except personally I wouldn't touch their filters with a 10-foot pole. I'd recommend grabbing a K&N Cone Filter and stick at on the end of the eBay Pipe. That's what I did and I love my setup.
Another popular filter in the Nissan World is the AEM DryFlow cone air filter.
