CVT Transmission Valve Body / CVT Extended Warrany

My transmission valve body is failing and the Nissan dealer wants 1,600 to replace it. Is this supposed be covered under the extended warranty on the CVT transmission? Isn't the transmission valve body considered part of the transmission?

I have a case# opened with Nissan, but the rep I spoke with said the warranty is tiered and Iam beyond the 8yr/80,000 mile tier with my mileage being 85,000 . The letter that they sent about the extened warranty says nothing about the warranty beig tiered and clearly states that coverage is to 10yrs/120,00 miles.

Help!

this is weird, the cvt has 120k warranty, what i think they are doing is, they are considering the valve body a seperate part of the tranny so i am not sure what recourse you have if any

definitely follow up on this an push for a new tranny/valve body sorry

I'm having the valve body replaced on my 09 Maxima. My dealer stated that it will be a warranty repair and didn't mention anything about tiered warranties. My car has less than 80k on it though.

Valve body

Is the an alternative to the stock valve body? I've heard of kits that can help but have not found who or where to get one. Anyone have any suggestions? I have a 09 maxima with 156k miles and It goes into limp mode randomly.

For 07s and 08s, you're right about the 120K but there is a time-limit as well, which is 10 years.
