I am a Noob with an orange Max (got hit, need a new rear bumper!)

Hello everyone, I got the elite package 6mt max last year in October. So far its a great car with small issues (fogs dont work, DRLs need to be changed, CDs skip during cold weather, one of the ABS sensors is shot). At the moment I dont really have any plans except regular maintenance, fog hid kit and an ipod integration kit.

On to some pics!

The yellow TT Z belongs to the wifey. The only mod it has is pioneer avic D3 and thats it.

Tint the winders and paint them rims black bruh, you could also paint or change your grille to the mesh grille. The colour does look a bit different to the ones that I usually see but overall the 6spd elite package is a badass car. And yeah I feel you on the cd skipping in the cold weather, it pisses me off too. I notice your license plate is from Ontario, what part though? Hit me up

First off I actually like the orange look , but i know for a fact that color isn't stock on the maxima elite. I looked at getting one for years and only two colors come with the elite burnt orange interior. Look at his door jam you can tell it has been painted. the metal has orange over spray on it.
To customize:
Black rims
Black mesh grille
Tint.
Just a thought instead of ipod just put an ipad in there, to control everything, A lot of guys have been doing that instead of carpc. That way you can use your ipad, then when you get in your car just dock it in the dash and ride out

Thanks for the warm welcome. I am actually from Toronto, ON. The ministry vehicle package says that it is orange lol. But I will double check the driver side jam. As far I know, 04 Elite Package 6MT came with orange on orange as well. The reason seats are a bit burned off because they are heated and I believe last owner used them a lot.

So just want to confirm, the paint code is located on the engine firewall, right? How do I check?

Here is another Maxima in Ontario. Same as mine.
http://www.autotrader.ca/a/Nissan/Ma...howcpo=ShowCPO

lol his seats are very similar to mines. I do believe 6mt orange on orange EPs are very exclusive and unique. If only it had navigation...currently I use pioneer avic f500BT if i need directions.

Yes, agree with color being a bit off/darker....then found what Morpheus2010 said regarding the overspray. I like your car, take car of it. Years down, I feel people will still want that 4 seater Max and it won't be hard to sell off. Congrats on your car. Enjoy it.

I think the color is on a small plate on the firewall behind the throttle body. Mine says KT3, which is the silver color.

The color is 'Radiant Ember' and sorry to hear about the CD player, just go aftermarket because I went though two of them with the same problem, it will just come back because its a defect in the Bose crap. Also, the ABS issues may come back and can be over $1,000 so id have that looked at asap. TheABS is the worst issue with the car besides the transmission, but you have the M6 so maybe its not a problem for you.

Nice max, that's the one with every option and 6 speed. There is one in my area with 149K miles. Thinking of getting it but found a good deal on a low mileage G35.

Welcome!

I have the same exterior as you and also located in Toronto as well (A19 is the color code) Radiant Ember is the correct name as stated previously. Mine is just blk interior with the DPP package w/o the Elite package and the standard tranny. I am not sure if the Elite Package came with the DPP package on top however.

Nice car. I got my '04 about 1 1/2 years ago, and was looking for an orange one, but the wife said UH UH. Ended up w/ a silver one. First thing to do is get rid of that stock grill. I got a billet grill on Ebay brand new for $65, and it looks great...took about 15 minutes to install.

Damn homie That sucks. But honestly you don't want to buy a OEM bumper from the stealership, their prices are just insane. You're probably looking in the hundreds or close to a 1K for an OEM bumper colour-matched. My advice is the buy one used from a junk yard or classified ad and get it painted by a good bodyshop who can colour-match good. Your paint probably changed colour over the years so having Nissan colour-match it means it's gonna look like the day they sold the car, which means you can stand and see it with the naked eye.

Yea quite unfortunate. I suspect that a snowplough truck could be the culprit.

So far I got a quote of $150 for a used oem bumper and $300 to paint.

+1 for 6.5 gen bumper. Its a glove like fit with no modifications required and looks far superior to the 6 gen bumper.

Looks really good, Ivan. However, i dont have any orange/black theme going on and not sure if I can pull it off with just the bumper.

I rather let you have the glory of being the one and only A19 with 6.5 bumper.

hey, that just means you can start an orange/blk theme

I honestly think it will look nice (completely changes the look of the rear) I was tied between the above and the GTR option as a body kit and think it's too ricey and just bulky as fk (especially in our color) - but at the end of the day, your call - I think you can pull off the 6.5 buddy

rockauto.com is probably the best place (you will get dinged with shipping charges) however, best thing about them is they include import/duties in the price.
Or you could try a salvage yard as well if you are looking for a used one that you will repaint -- either will work man.

defeats the purpose of having the different bumper (at that point might as well stick with the standard 6th gen) but your call man.
