04 MAXIMA brake griding??

Hey everyone noticed today when applying brakes under normal conditions I'm getting a grinding ABS sounding noise and a juddering ABS feeling in the brake pedal. Seems to show up as more pressure is added to the pedal. Light pressure it does not happen. I pulled the wheels rotors are perfect, no gouges etc. however pads are measuring about 0.250 on all 4 front brake pads which is where the noise is coming from. Would the ABS sensor be activating with the pads worn to this point. The wear indicator has not started to squeak yet. So what do you think? New to Nissans and honestly not to impressed at this point. This is my wifes car so I need some help. Thanks !

Definitely the abs sensor, in our cars, the right rear sensor, kick starts the abs system, there is a technical service bulletin regarding the fix...you have to drill a hole in a plastic catch, I have an extended warranty so when it happened to me it was covered. If you have a dealer do it, should be about 300-350 with labor, I believe.

I took the Maxima out for a drive since I hardly drive it anymore and on freeway applied brakes and it started grinding bad...Do I have that ABS issues as well? I recently had the rotors turned and pads redone...Where's that service bulletin that shows the fix?

The problem I had was the grinding sound was the ABS system activating prematurely under normal braking even at low speeds. Here is the service bulletin. Also no codes,or lights came on. Service Bulletin REFERENCE # NTB07-016b http://www.alldatadiy.com/alldatadiy...9947/133900988

Try this link, it is a link to the .pdf file of the TSB. I fixed the problem by replacing both of the rear wheel hubs and cleaning the sensors with electric parts cleaner. Been fine for about 2 years now. Good luck man.
