Do u guys just drain and refill or flush and if u flush how do u do it? And whats fluid amount for each, thanks guys

 

Drain and refill is the preferred method.

I use an empty oil pan to catch it, then use an empty 5qt oil bottle to measure what comes out.
Drive it for at least 100miles then repeat from 3-5x.

 

3 to 5 times? Damn how much fluid am I gona go through

 

Depends on how many times you do it.
It won't completely drain out everything, so that is why several drain and refills are recommended.
I would say expect to use 4+ quarts every drain.

Edit: I'm assuming your automatic, correct?

Flushing is bad IMO.

^^ to expand on that...

if by the term "FLUSH" you mean the process where they force pressurized cleaning detergents and crap into the system, then yes that's bad.

If you mean "FLUSH" as in the fluid exchange method (think Dialysis for the car) which uses the vehicle's OWN pump to move the fluid through, with no added detergents or cleaning agents, then that is ok.

I did the fluid exchange method on a 97 grand am with 190K, 97 outback with 205K, and my max with 141k with no issues.

 

with a 6th gen, yeah 3x should be fine, every 30k should be good as well.

if you have the 5AT, then pay attention to the REF522A trans fix thread (or something like that) and pay attention to the behaviour of your trans.

if you have a 4AT, no worries

If you have a CVT...then ignore everything above (and find someone who actually has a CVT 6th gen and ask them) and use CVT fluid only

 

I did 3x then do it once a year now. no more issues.

 

Here's what I would do because draining and refilling your transmission multiple times (especially with Matic-K) is stupid expensive:

Drain the fluid
Reinstall the plug
Add 2 quarts
Start the engine
While depressing the brake pedal, shift through each mode
P, R, N, D etc. Don't let go of the brake or you're effd.
Let it sit a couple seconds in each gate
Go back to park and shut off the engine
Drain the fluid
Reinstall the plug
Fill as normal

You'll notice that the fluid is darker now because with that 2 quarts and the shifting, it flushed the new fluid into the torque converter. Doesn't get all of it, but it gets most of it. Enough to justify not having to waste $200 on fluid.
