Hello All.

Im a recent convert from Jeep, laugh. Yea.. I had a jeep, my 2nd, that I built from the ground up to be the envy of evryone within 100 miles.

Anyway, the body and metal implants warranted a change - so I decided on a maxima - 2004 w every option (I think) available including but not limited to a freakin Heated Steering wheel.
Anyway.. I love the car. AND i am a "forum guy" coming from JeepForum where I have over 4,500 posts.
I hope to learn here too.

My basic question (Ive scoured the forum & cant find it) among others is:

HOW do I enable (ARM) my factory security system (alarm).

HOW do I make sure the doors AUTO-LOCK on their own both after I park and (if available) when I start driving?

And 3RD, HOW do acess the Navigation DVD? I know I need an update, but will need to put it in once I do.
In the meantime, is there a way to have the roads SPOKEN? I know this is possible because mine does occasionally SPEAK the road names?!?!

I can't help you out much but this car does not have autolock. That's all I know about your questions.

 

I'm sorry my response isn't going to help you much either. But I just wanted to tell you that I went from Jeep to Nissan too. 04 Wrangler to 05 Maxima. ((Jeep wave)) I miss my jeep what a difference though, huh?

no auto locking with oem security.

security systems engages automatically about 30 seconds and you lock your doors.

IIRC, press and hold lock and unlock buttons on remote to turn on/off the horn.

not sure about GPS.
