Grounding wire at muffler?

Never had to look far away to muffler assembly but while I was taking some pictures just to see how bad my stock exhaust are looking after 8 years. Later watching pictures on my PC I noticed one wire hanging around there. I am not quite sure I ever seen this or notice this wire. Does anyone know what this wire mean to be and where it suppose to be get attached to?

It goes from your exhaust to the chassis. It's a ground wire. Hot air molecules rushing through your exhaust builds up a static charge. This discharges it.
