Minor and inexpensive things to gain more hp?
Sorry, cant be done.

For real, the easiest way to gain more hp is to sell the max and get a car with more hp....

^........... Don't know how that would help him but I'll try to give some more useful advice. There's nothing you can do to get more hp that you will notice unless you go with headers. You can do the regular block off plate, CAI, catback and lightweight crank pulley but you won't really feel the real power until you get the Kenitix IM, lightweight flywheel, headers and a tune. You basically have to invest a lot into your stock maxima for it to really be effective, especially if you intend to compete against other cars.

My advice for you is to not go into performance until you really understand what you're asking for. Pay off for your car, maintain it and when you gather some knowledge about the pros and cons in modifying these car then start.

you said the same thing with more words

it can be done, but it will

1- cost a lot of money
2- will be somewhat complicated

He said: Not wanting to do anything big at the moment because i am still paying on it so just minor suggestions please…

So, it cant be done.

A cold air intake and an ebay catback will give you some performance for a relativity low price. nwp vias block of plate will give you some power and is pretty cheap too.

But like jason said, to get major power, you'll need headers(or high flow cats) ypipe, nwp spacers and vias, catback exhaust, intake, grounding kit, light weight crank pulley and flywheel, and an uprev tune. Easily over $2700, not including labor.

I didn't tell him to buy a new car because I think the 6thgen Maxima's are the best choice for the money.

More HP is going to be really expensive...

$6k + $2-3k for mods (headers/exhaust/engine management system) = $9-10k which can probably get you something with more power from factory

If OP does SSIM OP would require a engine management system which requires tuning to take full advantage of mod... Not cheap

This thread is getting outta control. The OP said he's just looking for some performance, not a new car @04BlackMaxx why would anyone trade a 4DR for a 2DR unless you have another car? Where you gonna seat your family? My grocery getter is the best and I'll never trade her for a slow Camaro. The 6thgen Maxima's is just a fraction of the Camaro and I'm sure my car is faster with my mod list, and I'm not even tuned yet.

Op I'll give you some advice, don't do it for the speed if you don't intend to race. Just add the simple NWP BOP, CAI and the Ebay N1 catback and call it a day until you finish paying off for it and decide to go into the more expensive bolt-on's.
Chevrolet's are good cars but for the money it can not compare to a maxima

Thanks man. I have Ebay N1 catback, Ebay Altima performance headers, nwp BOP, lightweight crank pulley, and a CAI. Just waiting for spring to hit to tune her up to unleash all that hidden performance in there. The only thing I would like to add to the list is the Kenetix IM but that's just too expensive so I'll hold off on that.

FWIW Kinetix is just an overpriced shiny SSIM with less gains than a properly shaved stock UIM.

Seriously....upward $700 or $800 is way much for Kinetix.

OP, please rent a 4 cylinders economy type car and drive around for week. It may cost you $150 to rent. Later come back to maxima. You will get and feel all the more HP that you need after driving that 4 cylinder car.

They're not that fast man. The modded VQ's top end is crazy. The tune will do the job and I can't wait to start hurting some feelings.

Set a goal, analyze it, (i.e., hp goal or 1/4 mile goal, or auto x goal). Research what it would take to get there with your current vehicle. If the cost is not justified, get a car that is suited to your goals/liking.

A thread entitled MORE HP!!! is a little ridiculous and vague.

What use is more power if you can't use it effectively? An LSD is item #1 for me.

I've had my 6spd for a little over 2 years now and i honestly dont see the need for more power unless you are tracking or want to get harassed by cops. Anyone under 300hp cant see me . In my opinion, make sure your car has no mechanical issues and is in good running (stock condition)before wasting money on bs parts. Most of the time they dont do "much" more for performance and make your car less reliable. A tight engine, good set of tires, new shocks/springs, brakes etc does wonders for throttle response and performance..just my .02 cents

Good choice. Jasonlyrics, it probably isn't as fast with your mod list but even if it was, you cant begin to compare modding a 6.2 V8 RWD car with a modded maxima, you know how fast these Camaros can be.
