Battery Change, and Car Settings

When you change out the car battery do you lose all radio, and dashboard settings? If, so how can I save them? I don't wan't to deal with resetting a moon roof, and a radio code to work the radio.

I usually loose those, but they sell some "things" on amazon to keep radio settings. search amazon.

I got battery changed today with no memory saver because I called the Nissan dealer first. The radio does NOT lock up he told me, and he was CORRECT. The only thing I had to do was reset sun roof, and saved radio stations needed to be reprogrammed in. All other settings stayed same including stuff under the maintenance, & settings buttons.

I took the battery out of my Maxima for 1 year and never had to do anything with the sunroof.

I have replaced the battery in our Maxima twice now and the only things I remember needing to reset were the radio station presets and the memory seat settings.

Autel sells a Memory Saver device. Basically you plug it into the OBD port, connect the other end to a battery, remove and replace the battery under your hood, unplug the Autel unit from the OBD port and you are good to go. None of your presets or settings have lost power so they remain the same.

hook up a booster pack to your battery terminals. loosen the terminal bolts, have someone hold the booster pack clamps with the terminals still clamped up, replace the battery, hook up the clamps again, tighten clamps, remove booster pack. boom, no lost memory. ive used that method hundreds of times

theres also booster packs that have a cigar lighter attachment for this purpose, easier method

could be 5 billion things. does it run if you keep giving it throttle?

could be the security system, could be the fuel pump, could the the ECU, could be a massive vacuum leak, ..............
