Speed sensor replacement

Hello,

I have a 2006 Maxima SE. The check engine came on and the speedometer stopped working. I took the car to Advance to run a check on the " check engine" light. The code that came up was P0500. Which indicates a bad speed sensor. It also said it was sensor "A". What wheel is speed sensor "A" asscociated with? And does anyone have any idea on how to replace it. I'm very mechanically inclined, but ive never run into this problem before. Thanks

I believe the wheel sensor (vehicle speed sensor) is actually on the transmission. There are two of them: one on top and the other by the side. The "A" sensor, the primary sensor, should be the one on top of the transmission. Both are however the same as they have the same part numbers. Might as well change the two, preferably with oem. A bit pricey though.

Thanks. Is the sensor somewhat easy to get to?
