If a car's ac stops when the car is stopped at a red light and then the temp gauge goes up? The ac starts back up when the car moves and the temp gauge also goes down when moving. What's the problem? Please note, the fans are working. Thanks

 

Check the coolant level in the radiator. If the temperature gauge is going up, the coolant level is probably low. The ECU will turn the a/c compressor off if the engine is overheating.

 

I had the same thing happen to me, had the AC on then when the car was stopped I noticed the temp gauge rising. I added some cool and and it works fine now
