Stability Control

Hello all,

I'm new to the forums because I'm new to Nissan. I just purchased a 2006 Nissan Maxima SL with pretty much every feature for a great price. But I'm not sure if it has the optional stability control. How would I know if the car has stability control? Where should I look to find this out? Thanks!

The VDC button you see in ^^ pic, to the left/below of the steering wheel. If you don't have it, obviously you know the answer.

Thanks for the response! My layout on the car looks exactly the same, but where your picture shows VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control) Off, I have TCS (Traction Control System) Off. So does this mean that the car doesn't have stability control? Thanks.

^^ Yeah, unfortunately not.

The VDC was a special option package for $900 at time of new purchase. It included both VDC+TC system.

But yeah, no VDC unless you have that button.

Would you say that this is an important safety feature, and that the car is dangerous without it equipped?

Every car can be dangerous, if you're not using it properly and don't drive very well.

Most of us never had any stability control without any issues. I think even on 6th gens like yours it was something like a few % of all sales that had VDC.

No big deal

I know this is probably either a no or a very expensive fee, but if I wanted to get stability control installed, is that a possibility? And if yes, how much would it cost?
