2004 Maxima SE Noise from front end while making turns.

Noise from frontend while making turns.

This is a 2004 Maxima with 110,000 KM (approx 66,000 miles).
Can somebody tell me what the problems could be?
Struts were replaced last year.

The noise from the frontend is as though the tie rods are gone. This does not happen all the time.
I had got this checked out by a mechanic and he could not determine where the problem was. According to him the tierods are fine and so are the ball joints.

Sometimes I find that the steering gets stiff when making turns. Again this does not happen all the time.

Could be a number of things. You need to be a little more specific.

Have you topped it off with PS fluid?

Possibly sway bar endlinks or sway bar bushings?

Regarding the occasional stiff steering - had the same problem. You need to lube the lower joint on the steering shaft - it's hard to reach by hand - I just sprayed a whole lot of silicone lube up the shaft and it's been good since. Google 'maxima stiff steering'.

110 000 KM - practically new...lol. My 2004 Elite has 195 000 KM and I thought that was low.
