98 and 05 maxima

Hey guys I have been trying to do a bit of reading and searching and was hoping to get some helpful insight on what I should do. I have a 98 maxima that doesn't run and is in pretty bad shape and I also have a 05 maxima that is currently locked out due to the nats system. I know that the 05 runs if it didn't have nats fail. Is there a way to utilize the 98 to get the 05 running? I was hoping to know quickly cuz my cousin wants to scrap the 98 but told me that if I need anything to get it while he still has the car.

Any suggestions or help would be great. Thanks in advance everyone.

Other than taking it to the dealership is there a way to over ride the nats with a different or older computer. I really want to get the car started and back on the road but want to avoid the dealership.

Thanks for your help.

If none of the parts on the 05 have failed, you can call a local locksmith. Most of them do car keys, cutting them and programming them to the NATS. They are cheaper than the dealer and they will come to you. Call several for price quotes but I bet it will be around $100.

The 98 Maxima did not have NATS, so there is nothing on it to help you.
