Loosen the alternator belt and alternator. One of the bolts securing the alternator is very, very tight. Do not round off the nut, You will need a6 point wrench or socket, to remove nut. If the noise stops then it is the alternator. If not, then it the timing chain or something else.

Thanks for all the tips
Mrbizness1: What are they replacing for $1600?. Normally the chain guide falls and the tensioner does not have enough adjustment to take the slack out the chain, hence the timing chain rattle. Are they just replacing the broken chain guide and tensioner? Are they also replacing the chain? There is probably major wear on the camshaft tensioner shoes and they should also be replaced. Shoes are only about 3.00 each and if the dealership has the correct tool to replace the shoes without removing the camshafts then the labor to replace should be minor if thy did not include.
