Crazy issue-need a maxima detective lol
Here we go. Lets see how good some of you are LOL.
I have a 2007 nissan maxima SE. It currently has about 123k miles on it.
Whenever im driving for maybe 30 min, my car wont rev past 2.5k , but my car will accelerate (im usually going about 75). If I put the car in manual it wont rev past like 2k , WHen i throw it to Auto again, the problem stops. Ive cleaned MAF, cleaned my fuel injectors and basic things like that. Any idea? If something is wrong i have till about 125k before my extended warrenty runs out.

I'm going to go with the CVT...just because I remember my 07, highway speeds after a few minutes, would whine and perform poorly. Now I could still rev, but the car was sluggish to say the least, and even getting off the highway, would be very sluggish for a while, or at least had to stop and restart after cooing down.
Had it in the dealership several times, and asked them to check the CVT with the other work being done. They could never "duplicate" it, because they never got it on the highway. Traded it in finally...

If my experience on a CVT Nissan Primera is anything to go by, the rev sensor (also called vehicle speed sensor) might just be the culprit. Part# 31935-1XF00. I think it's fairly common too with the early Muranos. You could run a scan for pending codes.
