2008 Transmission Failed
My transmission started making a loud whining sound when you first start the car. The sound gets even louder upon acceleration. Two days later, the car would rev up to 3k to 4k rpms but I would only be going about 20 mph.
I took the car to Aamco for a diagnostic. They sad it was a bad transmission. The cost for a remanufactured plus install would be $5300. I looked online and got a cost plus install from a local transmission shop for $3250 plus tax and fluid. Total should run around $3500. Nissan wants $4450 out the door. However, Nissan stated the price is negotiable.
Does anyone have suggestions on the best route to go. Aamco is not an option. Also, does anyone know of any dealers online I can contact to shop around for a remanufactured transmission?
