Swapping a 07 stereo unit into a 04

I've been searching around but haven't found anything on this particular subject.
I'd like to have the Bluetooth/aux input capabilities of the newer 6th gen stereo in my older 6th gen.
Is there a way to swap the whole stereo and bezel? I'm assuming the navigation unit would also have to be swapped in as a whole. Would it be plug and play or would i have to do some hacking and wiring?
Any help is appreciated.

I also want to replace my 06's stereo & console for a 07-08 one. The later model's console looks so much better imho + the aux feature. Don't want the navi, just the stereo/console with the a/c controls as well.
I'm subscribing to this thread hopefully other members can help.
Good luck and happy holidays!

I did a lot of research on this. Seems like the best option is an aftermarket unit. You can also relocate the message screen to the lower storage are and install a 2nd screen or small tablet

But to the OP, you can try getting the Grom BT interface. Kinda pricey but you get aux, bluetooth music streaming, and hands free calling capabilities. I have it in my 04 with the stock non-bose radio and it's great.
