I'm back! engine options

After selling my Maxima about a year ago, I started to miss everything about it.. so here I am a year later and I have recently purchased my old Maxima back! Now with 271k on a sucked out VQ, a near MINT body, and no mechanical problems. I'm looking into keeping the car and making it my long term project. Starting with a new engine..

I don't want a stock replacement for my engine, and I'm not gonna come here saying I wanna swap with a G35 for the RWD setup cause I know that's WAY more than its worth, although i would prefer that over the G35, or a 350Z lol.
What are some good options? build for NA? build and run a turbo setup? supercharger? most common thing I've been able to find is turbo setups in the Altimas, but very few Maxima setups.

Car is a 04 Maxima 3.5SE 6 Spd standard

That's the thing, if this were a daily driver, you'd be out of your mind, but as a project car, it really is up to you how much money and time you put into it. Might be fun, but might also be a money pit. I think that's what that dude was saying...

Nah, I seen a few smarta** remarks from him the last couple days... and yeah, its my daily for this winter, and I plan on building an engine over the winter cause this one is starting to resemble the sound of a diesel (timing chains) and its a sucked out engine not worth putting chains in. I have a truck and another car as well, so reliability isnt a huge issue.. but i want something that works good, its already a nice looking car on the rareish side ( 6 speed ) always been a big four door guy so I cant imagine a better base to begin with for making some decent numbers and having fun with.
