2007 with 118xxx (but out of warranty due to year) keep getting error p1778 (stepper motor malfunction) if it's cool outside I have issues if hot I do not have issues. Before spending $1200 on new valve body is there other possibilities? Any other help or information would be appreciated. Like level of difficulty of replacing myself. Or other parts that actually could be bad. Thanks

You could get the stepper motor on ebay. Search for the stepper motor for the model of your transmission which is:RE0F09B (or JF010E).
