Hey everyone I’m new here and this is my first post but I own a 2005 Nissan Maxima 3.5 SE I’ve already tried to google this many times but I had no such luck finding an awnser. So I was wondering what is the widest wheel that is able to fit on a 05 maxima? If anyone knows the answer or knows what is a good fit please let me know and also if a certain width will rub would also be nice to know as well? Basically any info you know about what will fit what won’t fit and what rubs and doesn’t rub would be a huge help! Any help would be very much appreciated. Just to make it clear as well I am not looking for the biggest rim that would fit I would most likely be going with a 18 inch or 19 inch depending on what rim I get I am looking for the tire set up for my maxima. Thanks again to anyone able to help me out with this one!
the reason the answer to all that is hard to find is that its a bit variable.
i.e. depends on the width, diameter and profile of the tyre, as well as suspension mods.
Also 'fit' is a bit subjective in that for some people a bit of tyre being a bit outside the line of the arch is still a fit. also running a fair bit of camber to make them fit is still fitting. finally, if the tyre rubs on arches slightly under full compression or steering lock, then also is still fitting.
Having said all that, the max you would reasonably manage with normal suspension setup and avoiding all of those subject fit issues noted above is a 235/40/19 on an 8.5 inch wide rim.
I have 245/40/R19s on my 04 Max with 2014 19" SV sport wheels. I've got no suspension mods and experienced no rubbing so far in the last year I've had them on.

nice. what is the offset on those rims?
also what does the fitment look like with the wheel arches- pretty flush or even a bit outside?
I'm not the smartest when it comes to the specifics of wheel sizes, but its a positive offset from what I've found. They're relatively flush, but I was flirting with the idea of putting on some small spacers to get them perfect. Here's some pics from the front, back, and straight on.
