Replacing ECU, quick question,…
Replacing ECU, quick question,…
I need to replace my ECU because it’s sending too much voltage to my coils and melting them.
Has anyone had experience with or used a company like Flagship One? They ship you a fully plug and play updated Ecu with your
vin number in it. Roughly $400 total.
I see lots of posts about buying a junkyard ECU and sending it off to be flashed and then having the dealer program the keys. It seems like I could get one from salvage and get it flashed and such for about $100 less than the fs1.
How much time is involved in the junk yard and mail off way? If I’m shipping one off and waiting, I’m thinking it’s worth that extra $100 bucks to have my car working by Friday.
Im sure FS1 has a competitor somewhere? Any other company’s worth looking into?
Thanks 🙏

yea I bought one from them last week and i put it in and my car cranks but doesn't start.. now im reading i need to program my key but the pin that is required needs to come from information on the sticker of the immobilizer that the ECM came out of.. i emailed them waiting to hear. I tried calling them for support but someone who obviously knew nothing and was probably from India just told me I need to RMA it

mine was so much simpler than that man. I called a local locksmith right off of googles home page. He showed up within 30 mins with Autel scanner. He said the key was “locked” to the old Ecu but it’s not hard to unlock. He stuck the actual key from inside the fob inside a small cut out area in th scanner and the key was unlocked on abiut 4 seconds. Car started right up like nothing happened. Cost me $200 bucks and he told me if he had to put a new transponder in the key or just sell me a spare key that it was $199 more.
