2009 Nissan Maxima pics/videos
As far as that Chart goes, I you missed the 6.5gen, which imo did alot to recover the 6th gen's image. It quite honestly took me several years and lotsa pics of how people customized their 6gens (Chernmax and DeusEXMaxima anyone?) for it to really grow on me. By then, however, the Maxima had bloated to what?? 3800lbs I think was the high number I heard. the 7th gen was a Monstrous step in the right direction. Reduced weight, and above all, the SE suspension is back! now the model means something again!!! I think that applies as well to the moniker "4DSC". Everyone here is impassioned about this car and wants the badges that ARE on the car to be properly represented.
That being said, the 7th Gen is already growing on me. maybe it's because I'm more open to the shapes embodied, or that after my initial urge to shout "OMG THEY MESSED IT UP OHONS YOU LIED CARLOS" I really looked around at every pic i could get, and it woke me up. My only REAL disappointment, is that I didnt get my wish for a return to the Afterburner taillight design and subtle lip that was on the 5.5gen rear deck. The only 2 design bits that shunt me are the wierd 3-spoke centerpiece on the steering wheel(70s hairdryer?) and the STOOPID tabs on the headlights. chop that thing off NOW. I can live with both, but i would be compelled to vinyl over the tabbed bit, which may wind up being a safety issue. 290hp is totally fine by me, as i already predicted that number well over 6 months ago. (they needed to usurp the altima numbers, but not exceed the G numbers) Now, if the handling changes can keep the car flat and predictable, while pulling something close to .9g on the skidpad and out-slaloming a C5 vette. I will drop my pants and take it to get one.
They need to offer "Hero" colors. solar yellow, sunburst orange, metallic green, that special pearlescent paint they offered on the Z, and and some kind of violet/purple color, would just make it all the more appetizing.

First it's highly inaccurate!
Second you posted it on a Maxima forum where thousands of members own and love the 6th Gen thus you exposed the idiot that you truly are (you can't even spell accurate correctly
).
Third, on your web site you installed a set of 6th Gen brake calipers on your rusting car???
Soooooooooooooooo get to sucking!!!

Ouch... the pussyhurt is Great in this thread young sky walker.
Rusting? What are you talking about? Maybe on the SFCs. Which I had to repaint later after some surface rust started showing up on them.
....these are videos of the unveiling of the new Maxima and also initial reactions....

My God I would love to see a little more boldness in the back and more original tail lights... horizontal bar fogs would have been sooo sick on that car... I love it... I really do.. I just wish they would have taken on a more original stance as far as merging some elements of the altima and the mercedes....
having owned two third gens, and now owning a 2001 5th gen, I'm happy to see the return to the 4dsc! However, I'm disappointed by the fact that there was no mention of a manual transmission. Some magazines consider the TL type-s with its six speed manual, 286hp v-6, and its new sophisticated differential as one of the best (if not the best) handling front wheel drive cars on the market. With the Infiniti style interior (and somewhat exterior, if you look at the recently discontinued Q45), I think that the push toward luxury may compromise some of its push to be what the nissan representative said in the video would be the best handling front drive sedan on the market. But the jury is still out, so we'll see. There's no question that the the 3rd gen max changed the game, it would be nice to see the 7th gen Max do it again.

I just got back from the show... Where was the GTR? I looked all over Nissan and didn't see it at all... was it by Infiniti? I didn't go over there because I got a pretty good idea of what Infiniti has when I went with my grandpa to buy his M35x. I saw the Max and the Alti and the Sentra and the 350Z and the goofy electric one and the crazy van, but no GTR
I just got back, the GTR was the car 10 feet to the right of the new maxima, what a beast it looks like! the 20 inch wheels and 6 piston front brakes are outrageous- as is the subwoofer built into thhe back seat. oh yea the new max is very nice too!
Lol anyone who takes a chart plotting Coolnes vs Gen maxima seriously needs to get their head checked. I'm just breakin 6th genners *****.. as was the guy who made the chart.
Intima is sold as an Intima (first and foremost in China). It will be the flagship sedan there, akin to the Maxima being Nissan North America's flagship sedan.

Just an observation, if you really look carefully, the interior resembles the 3rd gen's. Almost like they designed it with the 3rd gen in mind. I mean from the door handles to the slope of the dash. Notice how the top of the dash from the left curves over and comes down along the right side of the center vents. The grill also resembles the 92-94s... So needless to say I like it.

well looking at the auto show pictures, if this is how the car is actually going to sit, then that doesn't look half
bad at all.
Also in the video with the debut of the Maxima. That opening movie is it me or does it look like the guy shifts a couple of times like there is a 6spd tranny coming in the future. It may be just the manu-matic, but I can't tell.

Actually, I was in my stealership showroom today and I saw a 2008 Murano and the interiors are almost identical, especially the center console: down to the 2 button and 3 button arrangement! Not very original...IMHO.

Maybe some resemblance to the Volvo grille, but Volvo NEVER had headlights that look as aggressive as this Maxima. Much more stylish body-sculpting on this baby than on the Volvo, also.

!!!! imma try to trade my car in for one of these bad boys
