Maxima SV w/ Prem Package

What's up with this option. I have searched dealer inventory here in NJ, near parents on Long Island and near inlaws in NC....not one to be found. Is Nissan making any?

I would really like to check out the new dual roof....but can't

Yes, they are. In my experience:

1. The premium package Maximas are the ones all the (chotchbag) sales guys are driving.
2. The premium package Maxima is the only one worth getting for the:
a.Dual panel moonroof
b.iPod interface
c.Heated steering wheel
d.Cooled seat
e.Rear sunshade
f.Am I missing something?

In this economy, some dealers may be resorting to bringing in the base Maximas. Less upfront cost and easier to move for a mid-20's car. But that's surprising in Long Island and N.C.--you'd think there'd be at least one SV for you to go look at!

Do a inventory search at NissanUSA.com, it'll show what A36 models are in stock within a 100 mile radius.

Heated steering wheel comes in the Sport Package as well, and probably the tech. package. I chose the Sport package becuase I don't need navi. and I simply like the Sport better than the others ones, and it was cheaper, and especially becuase the spoiler and 19's.

Hell you're right. I stand corrected. I do dig the hell out of those 19s. I just can't get with spoilers on fwd cars.

How many cars have two moonroofs, electric sunshades, cooled seats, and iPod interfaces? My previous car was an STi. Before I bought my Maxima I was looking at a 750i. My mind was made up- my next car had to be plush and have some level of gadgetry. IMO without all of the options this car doesn't do much for me. I hate those blocked off plates on a car's dash. But damn I want some factory 19s.

good thing i got mine.. but i do admit.. it was hard finding her.. there was only one in the black on black package in all the San Francisco Bay Area.. i had to go to all the way up to Napa. i wish i was still in N.Y.C. tho, but Cali has some nice freeways to show off on.

I am about to notch a week in my new SV/Premium. 300 happy miles already.
I noticed a strange oddity on my car...No premium mood lighting. It is on the stats on the website for the SV with premium pkg. But not on the car. My window sticker is MIA so I cant check it. Unless it I am missing something. The only interior lightng I have is footwells and overhead. Anybody care to enlighten me on this.
Other than that I am loving it.
I got gas today and a youngish guy (younger than Me) asked if it was an "s" Class...I said no just a maxima...and kept filling. As if the huge hamburger (nissan emblem) on the grille could ever be confused with a "snob-star" No offense to any MB drivers...

Other cool thing, I smoked my boss to 100 on the interstate toady and his A6 cost a cool 12K more than mine.

I'm not sure the mood lighting is something that is greatly different than normal lighting; just a sort of 'indirect lighting' touch to lights in the same old places.

Racing to 100 with only 300 on the odo? You must not be aware this is being recorded in the onboard computer, and is definitely not in keeping with normal 'breakin' schedule.

As for the 'premium' option, I check the inventory of the 23 Nissan dealers within 100 miles of Atlanta every few weeks, and don't recall seeing a dealer with no '09s with the 'Premium' option. The larger dealers, such as Regal, would normally have at least one or two dozen 'Premium' '09s. Gwinnett Place Nissan and Sutherlin Nissan would each probably have around a dozen 'Premiums'. Even my mid-size dealer has half a dozen or more 'Premiums'.

I have noticed that the scuzz-bucket mid-level scum hanging around any dealership seem to always gravitate to a new design with something catchy, and the first '09 Premium to arrive at my dealer back in late June was immediately snatched by the Sales Manager for his personal use.

As others here suggested, check www.nissanusa.com and look at the dealer inventories in your area. I am both surprised and disappointed you didn't find at least one at every Nissan dealer.

for u to say JUST A MAXIMA make it sound like you dont take pride in YOUR car.. u should have made it sound like him calling it a "S"*** class was an insult..

Definitely not a lack of pride. I just was rather surprised that any self respecting male would take a stab at identifying my car make and model and be wrong by many many many thousands of dollars.

Happy Thanksgiving to all!!

Call Hudson Nissan in Jersey City. Speak to Carlo, he is the GM. He has always gotten me the car I wanted. I called him and told him, I want a SV/Prem/Tech, white w/spolier. He had it for me in 1 week.

You are right on about it being hard to find SV/Premium. Tons of Sv/Sports Packs though. I did search within a 20 mi radius and found 1 more at best. But then I didn't want to go to far. I went to the closest dealer to my house, they had 1 in stock. I took it. I just want to add the rear spoiler for looks.

I agree. Furthermore, pride in one's car is best shown through ownership (appearance and upkeep), not these "my-car-is better-than-yours" conversations. I'm an enthusiast not a fanboy. I tend to downplay whatever I own, because I'd rather have others tell me how awesome my stuff is, than to tell them how awesome it is.

It really is JUST a Maxima (though I thoroughly enjoy this car). Let's face it, if financial responsibility and reliability weren't factors many of us wouldn't be driving Maximas. However, for the money there aren't many cars that interest me.

I was reminded of this post today when I went into the dealership. They had a Mystic Jade SV Premium in the showroom. I know the dealer I went to does work with people in Nj (part of Penske). So they are available, just have to call and ask. THe delaers inventory online may not always be accurate.

There are mileage and manufacturer incentive concerns that will also play in. The more miles you want, the more the car depreciates, and the more you end up paying on your lease. The other thing is projected residual, I think it was kbb who put this is as the full-size sedan with the highest projected resale value after 5 years. This might be different from a few years ago now that there is some historical data on this model, so NissanUSA might be willing to take a larger shot.

I was drawn to the "premium lighting package" as well. Wasn't what sold me on the car though, thankfully. Premium lighting is the addition of 2, yes 2 extra LEDS. They light the controls in the arm rest for the front seats... You can find them tucked underneath the top area of the door handles. Even asked the dealer about it and sure enough, that is "premium mood lighting" If you bought the car for that the mood that will light up is bad...

Rest of the car, very nice.. Just wish I could get a wind visor of some type..

There are THREE lights that are part of the mood lighting system.

There are the two that light up the arm rest controls (which I used several times Thursday night. Without them, I would have to operate by feel), and there is the one up near the maplights that casts a very soft glow over the console area, enabling us to see the lids, etc of the various compartments after our eyes are adjusted to the low light in the car at night. I also used that third light tonight to find our tickets to the play we were attending.

I invariably use my mood lights every time I drive at night. Not to put me in the proper 'mood', but to be able to see and find things. For me, they work far better than the map lights and courtest lights, which temporarily negate my eyes adjustment to the darkness.

I like the mood lighting as well. I would just like to see them add it to the front foot wells like Infiniti, Acura, and a few of the other makes have so if you drop something on the floor at night, you can see it down there. Its nice not having to turn the courtesy lights on which blind you.
