G37 guy lmk when you wanna meet up so i could park my car next to your and we will see how much attention your car gets vs mine.....then after that ill take you on the highway and show u how many cars ahead i will be...then we could take a ride thru bear mountain and well see how well you could keep up......

If you see a white g37 with the license plate g37guy you are welcome to stop me.
Btw if I were to ever meet you I would break my rule about mods and get a gtm stage 2 installed.
I think it's cool you took the time and money to mod the car. Modding isn't for me. As I said I don't street race race either.

Most important though, it's good to see everyone who got their car whether it be a G or Max lovin it so much. That means whatever car you got - it was right.
GTM stage 2 kit is almost $10,000 .... LMAO not a bad way to spend $10,000 SYKE i could build that kit for half the price
you dont even get a GT30 turbo and you get a tail BOV which isnt even the best one

Yeah but 10g gets the fi plus other mods. You know when it comes to your ride the sky is the limit.
Come on guys, G37 is hot to. Its been out a little longer in the current form but you have to respect that stock for stock its a better car in terms of drive and abilities. Plus it gets plus for availability of manual.
And the coupe is sexy, much better looking than the Altima coupe.
Maxima is definatley a nice looking car but if you want a sportier car the G is it of the two (rear wheel drive, more motor, firmer ride)
But both nice cars that I would love to have, and the 7th gen Maxima is a bargain on the used car market for what you get. (Trust me I'm fighting the itch to get one)

Listen, Infiniti lover no disrespect or anything but you just don't see my point. What I'm trying to say here is that anyone that has a G they think their "Boss" or big shot! I always drive normal and when I see jerk offs on the road in theirs G's I let them know what is really good! It aint about the car it's about the driver so if you say that Maxima's are slow come and see me lol. Besides when did you see that GTM G37 TT yesterday that dude from Maryland posted up the vids 2 years ago or so... Now he's G is official and I respect him. He kept it classy and is a completely a sleeper!

I may put some minor mods on the car, but not any performance enhancers. I don't street race, if you want to try I'll put it in reverse, lol.
So while I think the G is the better "sports" sedan, I am a Nissan fan and admire what Nissan has done for the Maxima; even though the car is not for me at this point.
As for the rest of the thread, I'll throw my two cents in. I think the Maxima looks better than the G, has a more comfortable interior (I sat in a G37 and didn't care for the seats) and is an awesome deal for the amount of car you can get. The car is as dynamic and fun to drive as I need it to be for my daily needs, plus it still looks sexy as hell. Besides, there's so many G's on the road these days. I can't go to the supermarket without tripping over nine of them on the way.
I fix it, I think that is what you meant to say, I really hate the my car is better then yours, and I could but never will attitude
The way I see it theres always a better car out there, I was thinking about turning my lease in early and getting a 335xi, but then realized when i get that Im not gonna be happy after a few months and will want an M3, so Im happy with what I got and its more than powerful enough in stock form.
owner of maxima and g35
I would pick the maxima over the g35. here's why.
(pros)
fwd>rwd: yes if i was racing and taking corners at high speeds rwd is great. but I enjoy the quick response of a fwd vehicle. rwd just feels heavier to me for everyday driving.
weight: maxima is a lot lighter so power/weight ratio = more fun
luxury: having own both cars I know the maxima is more luxury, engine is quieter, hwy noise is noticeably less. Styling is also more upscale and also roomier. subjective but the infiniti is blan... maxima is more unique
all of this is true for the 6th and 7th generation maxima. infact even the 6th gen maxima had HID projector lights standard where the g35 was not an option...
cons:
maintnence: maxima is harder to work on. sparkplugs and belts are harder to get to in the transversely mounted engine. intake manifold needs to come off. G35 shares parts with 350z, i35 no longer exists.
my $.02

I'm dreaming
here...but a Laguna Seca Boss 302 (or such) for weekend thrashing could bring that mad left leg back to life!
For me it was down to the Infiniti G or the Maxima. Here are my thoughts, I'm sure others will disagree. I have 3 kids and the Max was bigger for them. I had a 335i Sedan and the Infiniti was no bigger than it was - but the kids keep growing. Note, I'm 6'5" and I have all boys that apparently are all going to be around my size. We needed the room. Also, to my eyes the Max is a more masculine design whereas it seemed to me that the Infiniti is more feminine. I like sports cars and have always driven them and let's be honest neither one is a true sports car, so why not go with what's more comfortable for me and my family. The G is based on the Altima and that didn't thrill me. And finally we had a '95 Maxima that was the most reliable car we ever owned, and we brought my first born home in it, so it has a special place in my heart. As for how many are out there, I don't see a lot of Maximas out there, but there are more G's running around than any other car. The other day I was at a stoplight, the two cars in front of me and the car next to me were all G's. My kids even commented on it.
It was a difficult decision, but I went with the Max and haven't had a second thought. I love it.

WE TALKIN BOUT CARS...NOT EVEN TRUCKS....BUT CARS MAN!
oh AI what a great quote LOL

My sister had a 2005 G35X and now/still has a 2007 G35X. My impressions are the G is just too small and uncomfortable compared to the Maxima. I also noticed the G has a much harsher/stiffer ride than the Maxima. Ya it is fast, but almost has too much torque which makes it a handful to to drive if your not used to it.
The Maxima is the better bang for the buck imo and is the better all around car.

Overall the G is a better vehicle!!! Even tho I have the Max... Well I had it now I got myself a G37S Coupe 6M/T. Amazing car waaay better than the Maxima another reason why I got it because I'm 24 and the size and comfort don't matter to me. Is it faster than the Maxima?! VERY! Especially off the line.
Salute maxima members I'm off to myg37

U just dumped nicki manaj for an anorexic chick... Congratulations... The Infiniti is faster but way lest appealing...

As long as the anorexic chick doesn't have blue/red/silver hair, but on a side note I drive g37s at work all the time and I would take one over the max for sure but size and smoothness aren't my main concerns at 23
I bought a 7th gen Max. So obviously I liked it better. But it was a hard choice. The G has a beautiful rear with some wicked looking lights when your behind it, but an overly soft, somewhat generic front end. Whereas the Maxima has that awesome, aggressive looking front end, a pretty cool looking rear end, and beautiful curves along the side and across the hood.
Performance wise they are close. I think that it is closer than most G owners would like to admit. CVT performs very well and with the paddle shifters allows a lot of control over the gearing that is a must for me.
RWD vs FWD. FWD for daily driver. It is better and more forgiving in the snow. Most notably when on the freeway at higher speeds.
Manual is fun but CVT is smooth. I'd rather get a 370 or 350z with manual.
G has more power and worse fuel economy than the Max. and vice versa. I wanted that fuel economy. G is still not a gas pig but the CVT makes you lose less gas when driving in the city with the large V6. CVT is progress.
I thought about the G37x as AWD would be nice but the fuel economy numbers just weren't good enough. And FWD > RWD in the snow.
What really made the decision easy in the end other than the fact I was in love with the look of the Max was the features in the Maxima. It surprisingly has more than the G37. Rear windowshade, rear seat climate and audio controls, heated and cooled driver's seat, panoramic sun roof, and the most important to me personally, Heated Steering Wheel. I'll take a heated steering wheel over heated seats any day. And the Max was one of the few affordable cars that had that option.
And as of 2012 adaptive headlights. Sweet.
