Clear Bra

Anyone have one on their 7th Gen? I have an appointment next week to have one installed, partial hood, full front plus partial fenders, lights, fogs, mirrors and back rockers. Total out the door $595.00 which I thought was a really great price other quotes were over a grand and that was just the front bumper and mirrors.

Well my dealer has it and I believe these use a 3rd party business, however you can also use this search by zip code: http://www.xpel.com/products/dealersearch.asp

I had mine done about a month ago and went with the Venture film. With the complex bends of the Max front end the Venture film stretches better than the 3M. It has the same warranty and I think looks better. I think I paid around $700 otd. But I also got the film on top of the back bumper just as you are going into the trunk. A good place to have it as that area can get scratched up.

I plan on removing my pinstripe tomorrow so I'll take a couple pictures for you, it's very hard to notice it's even present on the car.

Clear bra is the bomb for protecting your car. Not cheap but worth it IMO. $595 for all of that isn't too bad, seems a little high but not by that much. Anymore when I get anything done, I ask for the "bail out price" LOL

If it is not too late, I highly recommend doing the cups behind each door handle, especially on a dark color car.

Pic of the drivers door on my G. You can see a very faint edge from the film. It should be part of the xpel pattern on the Max as well.

I bought my car with the clear bra all around though don't really like it on the headlights due to scratches on them but can't complain. Looking to pay off the damn thing this year but looking more like early next year. Definitely worth it imo!!!

Hmm, I wasn't aware you could do this. I already have a few minor scratches that I hope will not cost me much to fix, however this would have paid for itself in no time.

Just had mine done with 3M Stoneguard, $725 otd including half of the hood, fenders, bumpers, mirrors and cups behind the door handles. You cannot see the film from the front and can see the edge from the back if you look hard. This is the third car that I have had done and have not had a problem with any of them. But it needs to be done before you get any rock chips.

New here, I am ordering a 2010 SV Premium + Tech. black on black. I am also thinking hard on getting the clear bra. I am looking to get the bumper, fenders, whole hood, pillars, side view mirrors, headlights and fog lights. I am not sure if I can get the doors done? Does anyone think it is going over board?

Sounds like a typical Xpel pattern. I'd highly recommend the door handle cups. The paint is easily scratched in there by fingernails.

I got a little excited when I first read the subject of this thread Hey..can anybody link me to where I can buy some door handle cups for the 09' Max? That seems like a GREAT idea as my wife's car and both my parent's cars have lots of scratches there.

Just got done paying my boy, he is going to do the:
Head lights & Fogs
Bumper
Whole hood
Whole Fenders
The pillars and the front of the roof
Part of the rear bumper where the trunk comes down
Side view mirrors.
I forgot to mention the door cups to him, but I know he will be able to do those too.
And also tint my car. So once I pick it up from the dealer I will be taking it straight to him. It's going to be hard though (since I never even driven nor seen a 2010 in person) lol.. But once he is done she will be mine all mine. Might as well call this job a saran wrap! Ha ha ha ha... If anyone has any other suggestions feel free to let me know.

I got raped by the dealer. I bought the 3M clear bra thinking that would do the front bumper. They only did the hood

Sorry to hear that, I have known this guy for about 7 years now and has come through for me. When he first did my tint I had a tiny bubble. Told me if it didn't go away in a few days to come see him. He ripped it off and did it again no complaints. Also I got my car broken into when I was in NYC and no one had the tint I had (hard to believe). He cut it and mailed it to me, he has been doing my tints for years. I trust him he does good work!
He told me today he also got one of his friends who is a pro (does expensive imports all the time) to come in on it. It's going to be his model car (for a whole front wrap up).

i just had mine done yesterday with Stoneguard. I had the front bumper, fog lights, headlights, half of the hood and both fenders and mirrors. It cost me $500 for the whole thing. You can't see it from the front and can barely see the line from the side and back. Well worth the cost. One tip: I would make sure you have someone really good install it because they are going to make or brake it on wheather you can see it on the car. For anyone in the Triangle area of NC, I used Pete from tvp.com. He did an awesome job.

Hey, all. I'm brand new to this forum. First post here! Just got my 2012 Nissan Maxima SV two weeks ago. It's been a thrill to drive it. Regarding the clear bra, quick question...can I put it on now? Or is there a deadline to getting it done? I know it should be done before it gets any rock chips. It's been funky crazy weather in D.C. in between the snow and rain, I really don't want to do anything to the car until this weather calms down. Any advice would help!

I'm just warning you all right now, I might be asking questions that can be deemed as "dumb" but this is my first new car ever and I'm determined on treating it right, with love and all. So bear with me

Welcome to the club! There is no dumb question.. Some ppl might think so but we are here to help. I have asked a few myself I think :S
As for the clear protection film, they do recommend installing above 15-20 deg Celsius, but a tint shop is usually heated. I had mine put on in October in Toronto fall weather around 10 deg Celsius and everything looks fine so far. Talk to the installers and see what they say. My car is a 2010 and I am the second owner.. But since you just got the ride, the earlier you put it on the better. Hope it helps .. See u around!

Does the plastic come off easily if you want to remove it?
Does it cause any discoloration underneath?

I've had the clear bra on previous cars and really liked it. My last car didn't have it (bought it used) and it was really chipped up.

I got it on my new 2012 Maxima and it looks great. 18 inches of coverage on the hood--very nice!

Love Bugs

Why did I have the 3M clear bra installed? Love Bugs. We moved from Louisiana a few years ago but still go back every few months to visit family. This past week was one of those trips and the Love Bugs were in full bloom. If not removed quickly they can etch the paint. Gotta love the clear bra.

Don't pay 500$ to have it down.
You can do it yourself for 25-$40. Just buy the 3m from metrorestyling.com. It really simple to do. Plenty of video on you tube. Just buy xtra in case u mess up..
Seriously it's pretty simple
