09 MAX and EZ Pass

Has anyone had issues with EZPass and their 09 Max. I have yet to get mine working and have replaced it three times. Ive turned off autosensing wipers, turned off nav and anything electronic things i can think of. Ive even put it on the sunroof and nothing appears to work. They also suggested I place it on the dotted part of the windshield cause that part doesnt have the "special coating" but nothing works. Im just trying to figure out if its just me or everyone with 09 Max.

Thx
Ken

Auto sensing wipers is an option on the 09' Maximas?

I was looking into getting one of those and i found that some cars the interior ez pass wont work and you have to get some type of external sticker thing or something like that. EZ pass titles them as exterior tags. I hope that helps you out.

My EZ Pass unit is a beige plastic box 3 in. square and is issued by EZ Pass of NY/NJ. I keep it stowed in center console compartment that looks like a cigarette ash tray. It is taken out and placed near the windshield for use.

I have not had a problem with the unit. I have used it in NY, NJ and MA.

I haven't had any issues either. The official mounting location is below the darker tint of the windshield, to the right of the rear view mirror, although it picks up good almost anywhere.

You sure the transceiver isn't bad? Can you test it on another vehicle?

I mounted mine on the dark band of the windshield directly behind the rearview mirror. It works fine - I think you may have a battery issue with your E-Z Pass unit.

Yes it sounds like yours may be defective..

I have mines behind the factory TINT in the front windshield and it works like a charm zipping 15-20 miles thru ez pass here in nyc / nj

How old is your EZPass, the internal battery is probably dieing, take it back to an EZPass center and exchange it.

The 09 max is not listed as having a metallic windshield, I've seen Benz owners hold the EZPass outside the sunroof to go through the toll
