Maxima IPod Interface Cable. where to get replacement cable???

I called the maxima dealer asking to purchase another ipod interface cable. The guy from the part department tell me that maxima did not make the part/cable for it. Can anyone tell me is that true? I cannot the interface cable replace if I lost it or it gets damage?

Can some one confirm and if anyone know the part number for that interface cable?

You can always do it the ghetto way and go to the dealership to check out the new Maxima 09 Sv Premium and get the ipod cable with the 5 finger discount. Problem solved

Not that I would ever do that.

Quick question. Is this cable for the people that have the nav or just the display? Or did they finally release a kit for the maxima w/o nav or display?

this is the cable for use with the ipod builtin. I buy this extra cable to mod it so that I can use with the USB thumb drive instead of stuck with the ipod. I like the thumb drive.

It is for anyone with the premium or technology package, or both. So with the Nav or with just the display, but definitely with a 7" screen. If you did not get either of those packages you will just have to use the aux headphone style jack.

this is for premium package and/or technology package. Both come with the ipod interface as well as the A/V interface in the arm rest console and a 7" color screen with rear view display.

Darn alright i though it was for that. I really wish the dealership would have told me that there was a non nav display screen that i could have gotten when i got my car. I though the only options were Nav or no Nav..

I have a quick questions for you guys. I bought the 09 max 6 months ago and I have the premium package but I didnt get a ipod cable with the car. The regular ipod/iphone cable is usb and doesnt fit in the ipod connection in the car. Was I supposed to get a Nissan cable with the car to connect the ipod/iphone to? The dealership says it doesn't come with the car and parts dept. says they don't know what to order for me. All they have is a wire harness which I assume is the one already in my car. Please help!

Yes the cable comes with the car at the time of purchase. As was mentioned in an above reply:

Ya, me too, and I still curse them for that... I was between sport with no nav or the tech package SV... Went with the Tech Package because of all the electronic wonders and gizmos.. Then again if I had waited a year I could be in a fully loaded max with tech and sport or premium for cheaper than I paid for mine. Darn economy.

I bought my 09 used last weekend and once I got home I figured out that the ipod cable was not in the center console. I ordered this part 999-U7VS005 from Courtesy Nissan and it is not the correct cable. I am having no luck finding the actual part number. I have called several dealers and none list an ipod cable.

Any help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Think I found what your looking for, took some time, Nissan refers to it as the Interface System for Ipods, but the part that is missing is called the Interface Harness($31) I'd be willing to bet your gonna have to do some slow repetitive talking with a parts guy to actually get the part.

I found it on Nissanusa.com, through google, click on 2010 Nissan Frontier and Altima, then click on options, specs & accessories, open up entertainment and you will see it.

Then I found the actual cable/harness on courtesyparts.com under GT-R accessories,

http://www.courtesyparts.com/nissan-...727_8676_8680&

It's the 2nd cable on the right, the shorter one shaped like an upsidedown u, it has the Ipod plug on one side and a larger square plug on the other.

hope I helped

I found the exact Harness for the Ipod on courtesy parts listed for the 2009 Maxima. There are also close up photos there to identify what it is.

$56.69

http://www.courtesyparts.com/284h2-h...-p-607195.html

It appears that the Nissan part Number for it would be 284H2-A35001.

I say go ahead and order it from here and forget about giving the stealership the time of day on the purchase.

The above link is for the 2009 Maxima, it will NOT work on the 2010.

For the 2010 you can use the Ipod connector to USB cable that came with your ipod.

So you have a S,SV,Premium,Tech? Does this connect to the radio? On the 2010 premium you only use your oem apple cable to connect to the usb port under the armrest. Let me know thanks.

So my 2010 premium tech with nav wont have this ipod specific cable? I just use the usb port in center console with the oem ipod cable?

...But only on the 2010 Model year. The 2009 model year requires the above cable I mentioned.

Check USB Cable and MP3 bit rate.

It could be the cable be the USB cable itself - check the connector end that there is no "damage" and that it is snuggly connected to the iPhone
Or the quality of the MP3/AAC that your music is formatted to...low quality audio files usually does that. I have an old worn out USB cable that is ready to split but no popping sound since I keep my mp3s at 256 bit rates

i do have a warning pop-up on the phone when i plug it in tho, not sure if that would have anything to do with it. im not sure about the quality of the files, they sound fine thru the headphones. the cable is brand new so i assume its ok. not sure if i should try to buy another one (diff brand) and see if that helps.

Did the cable come with the car new, if the connection is in the console?
