Maxima is very popular, If more people could afford it they would buy it. Those who can't own one now will buy in a few years used. Maxima walks a thin line between high end luxury cars and the street crowd. You get best of both worlds. Not just speed and a stick but speed and luxury. You can sit back and chill in it or you can tune it. The 6thgen looks better than the new TL and the Genesis just pops out of no where with a high price tag. Genesis is a great car but it didn't start anywhere, it just popped up and said $40K please. Kick some *** for at least one generation before you demand prices.

The first three months this '09 was out (late June thru late September), many U.S. dealers (including mine) would not have given you the Sport for $36K. In fact, from the initial release June 26 until sometime in August, my dealer had a $3600 'Market Adjustment' added ABOVE the MSRP.

The newer Audi A4s have finally gotten up to average reliability. The A4s up until the 2006 model year were abysmally unreliable. When equipped with all the bells and whistles (like the Maxima Sport and Premium are), Audis are rather expensive.

$36k USD is like the most u can pay for any jap FWD car in Canada. The point was that they are selling for like 25k in the states now.

Between the TL, Avalon and Maxima ($40k Jap FWD cars in Canada) it pretty much comes down to what u r looking for. I would say the MAx is hands down winner overall.

Edit: but if u got it rite when they came out then ofcourse there wasnt any discounts...
