changing headlight bulbs

Has anyone gone through the process of removing the front headlights to change bulbs? I want to do this and could use some help on how to remove the front bumper, if it is necessary, as was the case with the 6th gen.

From what I have read in the service manual, you have to remove the front bumper to get the lights out.

The bumper has to come off. You can download the service manual for your Max at http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/maxima/2009/

i changed mine and DID NOT! remove bumper, you remove wheel well, for right headlight turn the tire all the way to the left, remove wheel well, take off gray cap that covers headlight and change headlight, for left side turn tire all the way to the right and do same thing

I installed my 6000K HID's from the bottom wheel well. No need to remove bumper at all!

but where did you place the ballasts if you did not remove the bumper? every mechanic i went to told me i have to remove the bumper, i have not done it yet because everyone is afraid to take my bumper off. anyone in orange county know how to do this? i got hid headlights that i need to install for my 09 maxima. if you could email me or message me back on this forum that would be great.

also, do u think i got ripped off on my sv? 31,232 for basic sv with mats, 0% for 5 years? i went through the costco deal.
