Stillen Catback Exhaust Opinion

I need your help, I know several of you know have this exhaust however I need to know how it sounds from inside the car while at cruise. I had a Stillen full catback on a 4th Generation and the drone was so bad especially on the Interstate that I vowed to never again do that to my car.

So what's the verdict?

Thanks

From O-30, you know you have a different exhaust under there. On the hwy, no difference in sound while cursing IMO. Never know anything is under there. When you put your foot into it, it wakes up the inside, but then again, not while cursing! Keep in mind that I also have the cold intake system also, this may contribute to a little more noise.
Hope this helps

It isn't loud like most cars are but does not sounds slightly diffrent then stock. There is a deeper tone to it then the stock that is very noticible even from inside the car in the city and on the highway. You eventually tune it on when your on the highway but its is much louder inside.

This is why I'm waiting for Corsa's product. Their noise cancelation and anti-drone technology would be a GREAT addition on these cars due to their notorious factory drone.

Yes I agree however Corsa from what I remember only supports V-8 engines? Have you contacted them to see if they are going to support the Maxima? I think while your waiting you might as well play the lottery since those odds might be slightly better.

Well it seems do they have at least a few V-6 and a Acura 2.4L so I stand corrected. I emailed them and asked if they plan to support Nissan cars, i.e. the Z and Maxima and if they needed any R&D vehicles.

Yes, Paul Santiago (Corsa rep) said that they plan on releasing a catback system this Summer that will not only be lighter than stock by eliminating the "Resonator" approach, but made of the highest quality as well.

I've had nothing but Corsa exhaust on my last 3 cars for a reason.

Anyone interesting should email them to help support our application.

Sounds interesting. Maybe I shall look into this. What are they doing to replace the "Resonator" approach that will help with noise cancellation?

I suggest you visit their site to see what they're all about. Their RSC technology is phenominal.

Yes watch this video and pay attention at 1:50, NO DRONE @ 70MPH!!! Cattman claims you can't avoid the drone, I say BS. Also I love the fact that Corsa flow tests the system I haven't seen anyone else do that or provide the test results if they do.

Corsa is second to none in all their applications. It's not cheap, but quality never is.

Stay tuned!

My only issue is, and don't take offense to this, before this conversation I have never heard of Corsa. This isn't my first time around the block with aftermarket nissan products either. But, I am willing to give it a shot. Keep us updated!

I used to see and hear them on the Mustang boards, they are top notch, but too pricey for me.

Maybe they will be more reasonable this time around?.

Any chance someone with the Stillen exhaust could post before and after sound clips.

That would be really great!

Thanks.

Corsa has GM roots, but has made its way into countless applications over the years. BMW etc...

A simple visit to their website will give you all the assurance you need.

My last Z06 vette had their titanium system on it and it was VERY nice and tame idling and cruising, but pass 4k RPM and it ripped so nasty yet so clean that even Mustang boys gave props.

It's hard to put a price on quality guys...

I had a Corsa premium system on my high compression LS1 for years and even though the catback wasn't designed for that kind of pressure, they swapped the muffler out every time with nothing but great customer service over the years.

I must've replaced the muffler on that system 3 times over the past 6 years due to the compression of my motor, but I never paid a dime for shipping or anything. They call tagged the worn muffler and shipped a new one... no questions asked.

Email Paul Santiago from there website to show your interest! This may get things moving even faster.

We are always looking at new applications...but the Maxima is not on a

Now, this can always change, so just stay tuned.

I'm not sure who Jim is, but Paul Santiago knows what's going on. You guys need to email him DIRECTLY and not just the general email to get this going.

He just needs to see how much interest is in it so please hit him up.

One of the main issues I'm seeing with all of these aftermarket mufflers/exhaust set ups is that the pipes coming out the rear are so much smaller than the OEM pipes that they look too puny and odd as if they don't belong:0(

I like the way my exhaust tips look, they look big and it scares the crap out of Mustangs behind me, I can tell the guys driving sometimes are a little intimidated and wondering whether or not they should test me. LOL!

I hated the look of the Stillen compaired to OEM. I am so happy now with the stillen exhaust off and OEM back on... for LOTS of reasons

No problem emailing Corsa, I did already and they asked me where I lived and if I was interested in providing a donor car. I can't since I obviously live in AZ and they are in Ohio but just keep in mind this isn't a Stillen expect to pay $1500+ so make sure if you email you really do intend to purchase otherwise Corsa will never support our community again.

That price is way off target and you shouldn't post anything like that.

Their exhaust systems are always competitively priced for a fully stainless steel performance exhaust.

I'd remove that number from your post before you mislead members.

I just want an exhaust system that looks just like our OEM especially the exhaust tips which looks really good, having a smaller tip would really suck it would take away from the look as well.

What are you talking about? They haven't even committed to building a system yet, let alone released pricing.

Don't mislead the board with bad info.

Here is the response I recieved guys. Not looking to great.

Quote:
Hello and thank you for the follow up interest.
On behalf of us here, we do appreciate the fact that you having already
experienced our products.

CORSA Performance continues to innovate and develop exhaust systems for premium
markets.
At this time we are currently working on applications for product release within
this quarter yet, however it is unfortunate that we are not currently working on
the Nissan line of vehicles.
Yes we have discussed the Z cars and their counterparts to include Maxima fairly
recently, yet are not currently working on systems or muffler options for these
vehicles.

We do appreciate the interest and follow up inquiry.

Sincerely,
