Cool T-Rex Blackout

Soooo, call me crazy but I really wasn't feeling the bling factor of the polished face of the T-Rex grille. I did a test run with electrical tape first, and decided I liked the look blacked out better. I really like the contrast of the Precision Gray and black tint and now black grille.

Fire away, I expect very mixed reviews.

Definitely gives this car more of an Italian road racer look from the front.

HoTT!!

But your car doesn't look Precision Gray, it looks like Radiant Silver to me, just like mine.

Oh it's gray alright haha. It must be because of the lighting and the auto-level on my camera-phone. I took the pics at dusk in the pouring rain right after I installed them in the parking lot...in the pouring rain...I was soaked but determined to get these things back on.

Thanks for the comments, I'm loving this new look.

I think it looks fantastic,....., on light colored cars, probably won't work too well on my black.

Upon reading the Thread Subject I was like "Oh boy, another rice mod" but now that I see it, it looks really good. Couldn't pull it off on my Super Black though. Btw, that front end is even more reminiscent, to me anyways, of the GT-R front end it was styled after with the blackout look.

That looks really good. It will standout anywhere. And that is just tape on the grille? Great job, I will say.

No, I painted it. I used the tape only as a "dry run" before doing anything permanent to the finish.

grille mods

to those who have removed the grilles or anyone in the know.

How much space is their behind the grille?

I would like to make a a recessed black grille not unlike the ones on this treasds but as far off th frint lines as possible.More of a stock car look.Or like a 427 cobra lookif anyone has seen. Cobra reminds me of photos of that Mega mouth whale .Whoaaaa big open mouth....
I'd have to make somthing I suppose but are wondering how much space before any obstructions.Anyone ever see anything like that.

Flush blacklooks cool but I have somthing else in mind.

That looks awesome. I'm deciding between the billet grille in black and this one.......

http://uploader.ws/upload/201006/nis...rilleblack.jpg

Both look great in my opinion. I wish they also had grille inserts for yhe brake duct next to the fog lights.

Looks great. My car is black and I am really struggling with the whole grill thing. Im not sure how this would look on black.

I wonder how it would look if you blacked out the space between the upper and lower grill with vinyl. Could look terrible but it could look amazing. Just a thought.
