Paddle Shifter Rattle?
Paddle Shifter Rattle?
After a few weeks of driving my new max, I noticed a rattling sound coming from the steering column vicinity when traveling over bumps in the road. It sounds like a baby rattle and lasts a few seconds per bump. After holding the POS (+) paddle shifter a little bit, I noticed this was the source of the rattle.
When I got my first oil change around 1500 miles, I mentioned the problem to the service manager. After checking it out, they reported "could not duplicate" on the final service statement, the same notice I received after reporting the infamous rocking driver's seat issue.
Just curious if anyone else has had a similar rattle coming from the paddle shifters?

I have not see anyone else here on the 7th gen board with this problem. I would try to find a few bumps near the dealer. Speed bumps are best; they are found in most large parking lots, especially near the front doors of large stores, where there are lots of pedestrians. Then find which bump gives the best rattle, then experiment until you find the crossing angle and speed that gives the loudest rattle, then invite the service manager for a short ride (to that bump).

I have not noticed anything from the steering column or the paddle shifters after 4800 miles. Will listen out for it although I will admit, I do not use the paddle shifters too frequently. Not saying that it should be the cause of the problem...
I actually never use them... which is why I don't quite understand the issue? Next service I will have them look at it again.
