He meant it as a joke. I believe he's talking about that stupid fan thing they have on eBay that you put into your intake tubing.

Should I assume that nobody is talking about K&N CAI is that they are worthless? I've been reading these threads and am waiting on the R2C...seems like that is the way to go? Any idea on what the cost may be when they come out?

R2C (7th Generation)

I just got off the phone with Ed at R2C. He said the 'test' Maxima will be there Monday or Tuesday. IF everything fits fine and is a "go" (they have a few different sizes to try)...we can expect to see them available in a few weeks, at best. He said the price will be under $300.

I believe they are still using Alpha's car for the testing...

Sorry. I've heard the "out in a few weeks" line one too many times. Pics of it installed on a car or it didn't happen is my motto now.....

Wow, I never thought this day would come... My car's being driven back from R2C WITH the intake installed. The very first production system!

They took the car to take installation pictures for the instructions and Ed should be here in about a half hour!

It looks like our great patience has finally paid off!

Driving impressions tonight!

I wonder if the impressions will last once you get it. I think RC2 killed the idea of most of us wanting or even waiting for that Intake to come about. Initially there was much enthusiam over it but since it has taken so long for it to come into fruition most have lost their curiosity.

I know I have. Maybe your driving impressions will be able to sway some back but not all, please post video impressions once you get it because talking about it or just hearing sound clips isn't going to be enough to get everyone back onboard for this item after this long of a wait.

To each their own, but the sound, fit, and quality of this setup is second to none. I know all those who buy it will be glad they waited.

The car sounds ridiculously awesome! I leave work in a bit for actual driving impressions.

So you'd rather have a shoddy product that was rushed out the door?

This thing has been promised for over a year now... SURELY it doesn't take this long to manufacture an intake. I still don't see the big deal about it, unless its a CAI, which it isn't, there will be as much improvement in performance as with all the other ones.

Okay, for those of you interested...

After driving around town and on the highway last night I really have to say... This mod is ridiculously fun!

The Max sounds SO much more muscular, thick, and exotic that I'd never even consider NOT having it.

The response is super snappy and aggressive. Even at low throttle load you can really hear the thick grunt and deep growl of the 3.5l.

Go WOT and it's loud, MUCH louder than the exhaust and SOTP performance is definitely noticeable all over the RPM band.

R2C really delivered and I"m very impressed with the product. It took a long time for us to get it, but it's here now and I'm glad I waited!

Cheers!

Please read to me where i put that statement you just made?

I'm just stating the facts, you can look all over this forum and find many people talking about other intakes or just buying the same type of filters and using it with different intakes or even making their own.

As for me, I did lose interest. I set aside money for this when it first came out so I eagerly anticipated it being here much sooner, money isn't the issue but when I set my mind to do something and I lose interest then I forego it for something else.

I'm certain the intake is everything that Alpha is stating it is as far as fit, finish, quality and sound but honestly speaking nearly every intake will give you the same performance gains (if any at all).
